Agreed, it's just an off day.

The game could have been finished by half time. A refresher to stay awake and be sharper for United hopefully.

starting XI vs Empoli

Dybala-Ronaldo-Bernardeschi
Matuidi-Pjanic-Bentancur
Sandro-Chiellini-Bonucci-MDS
Szczesny

5-0 or 5-1 win imo

Edit: last minute change it's Rugani instead

Bentancur an absolute disaster on that goal. Stopped the ball for Caputo lmao.

Really not sure what Alex Sandro is doing with that challenge inside Empoli’s half, gave Empoli the counter.

We will be lucky to draw if we continue to play like this. Lads need to wake up on both sides of the ball

Never been able to start the engine... we had possession but we could create nothing most of the time. Terrible long pass and crosses all game long. Overall, a match won solely because of the talent gap between the 2 squads.

Ronaldo MOTM, good ol longshots are my favourite goals
Nice effort by the keeper Provedel

SPAL coming up before the CL game with the squad still in disarray with fitness and injuries.

Ronaldo and Mandzukic stayed over the break so at least we can count on their energy. Their (temporary) retirement from the NT really helped us out.

Pjanic is expected to recover and be fit. Bernardeschi and Khedira are unknowns, likely they make it to Valencia, not so sure about SPAL. Emre Can started training again but is obviously not ready.

Matuidi admitted he was tired when joining France, Allegri said the same too. The only midfielder that is sharp is Bentancur.

Probably a good time to play with 2 CMs in Ferrara, a 4-4-2 or 3-4-3. It would be nice to give the CBs some time with a back 3.

Felt asleep during Roma's match and missed ours. From what i saw on the highlights Ronaldo had another satisfying performance. He seems to enjoy his time here.

In the (few) Real games i saw these recent years, Ronaldo was not implicated in the creative aspect as much as he is now at Juve.

I’d say Real and Juve relied on Ronaldo in their own but different ways

Without Bernardeschi, Dybala and Cancelo on the field we do lack creativity and yesterday we played a very direct line up.

We still have not seen Douglas show up but when he does, it’s another weapon for us.

As it remains, Mandzukic (capitano) is the main beneficiary of Ronaldo.

Bentancur is really becoming dependable. I’m still not sure how high I rate him or what his best position or traits are but he’s a very well rounded, good young player

Douglas finally played well. Even if he was not spectacular, these are the performances that need to be the minimum from him.

Bentancur has become a very useful player. Now I don't fear for our midfield in terms of ball retention. Khedira-Pjanic put us at a disadvantage vs Roma, Napoli and Lazio in midfield play last season. Now with Bentancur and Bonucci we step up and control the ball without problems. The tactics we had to employ vs Spurs and Napoli last season are no longer a necessity.

I see him as a new Marchisio with less technique but taller and more physical.

Last season he was way too raw, making rash tackles, being caught out of position, making unforced mistakes. Now he minimized those mistakes and even more so, is no longer a passenger. The next step for him, once he get's rid of the few errors in him through experience, imo is to be a bit more daring in the attacking phase. Take more risks once he understands when to take them.

FORZA JUVE FORZA JUVE

I see we won the derby, sadly i was working at this time and could not watch the game. This season i have struggles to get into the football vibe, as if i follow it with a distant interest. Mainly due to the numerous international breaks i suppose.

It sucks because i truly believe it's our TRE8LE year.

Pretty absurd to disallow that goal. At least we can always rely on Mandzukic.

we should not underrate INTER, they have become better with Conte, he knows exactly what to expect and ask from the players to do , I believe this season Serie A will be a two horse race with Juventus and Inter Milan

sure Juventus is better than other Serie A clubs its just that Inter has gone stronger than before so I believe the competition has gone more serious than before

other than that I expect our playmakers to step up their game

if you compare the guys with Del Piero, Pirlo, Nedved, Pirlo there is a lot of difference, they don't create chances as much, they should step up their game , their passing should be threatening , it should be the " playmakers" Dybala, Ramsey, Bernardeschi, Pjanic, they are not bad, but they can do a lot better instead of expecting from C Ronaldo to win the games

Different era, different football and styles. We need time to gel, and yeah we are level or two above the rest of Serie A.

nothing has changed, the coach decides what style of the game to play based on what qualities the players have

you cant play long balls and chip balls if you have no players who are good with it, there for you must play short pass and dribbling exactly what we are doing

Missed the match but i saw the goal. Elite finishing.

Was Rabiot any good as a starter ? Replaced by Matuidi at 73' it raise my eyebrows, i hope it's a substitution based on fitness not performance
