Question for my English friends :
But has Pickford played so good in Everton too?

Sweden weren't lucky to beat Swiss. The Swiss were shit in that match while Sweden was wasteful. Should have battered them by more tbh.
Also, gg lads, congrats on an apparent Semis.

Re: WC 2018 | Quarter-Finals | England vs Sweden
Congrats England. You deserve this victory
Out-fought us all game. Won every second ball. And most of all were more fit than us
I am proud of our boys, we just don't have that many quality players. After England scored their first goal, we were put in a position we haven't been put in before this WC and ran out of energy.

Don't think I've ever seen England play this well. 3-4-2-1, possession, pressing, good link up play etc. A lot of the guys have played under Pep, Mourinho and Poch in recent years which has definitely helped develop their game imo.

Re: WC 2018 | Quarter-Finals | England vs Sweden
Sweden made some genuinely good chances in the second half, but Pickford was just in amazing form.
At the same time, I think this was a relatively comfortable match for us. We had greater control over how the second half went, took better care of the ball than we did against Colombia and actually looked dangerous from open play, which has been a rarity this tournament.
The whole time, I don't think we've been anything more than just competent. I don't even know if this group of players is capable of doing more given the limitations we have. But we've been blessed with the draw and avoided the really big nations.
The team has exceeded my expectations (I thought we'd get to the quarters and be knocked out by Germany or Brazil) but here we are.
At the very least, it'd be great if we could beat the 1990 group and finish third.

That idiot said yesterday that if he was Gareth he'd change the formation because you don't need 3 defenders....
Luckily top lad Gareth aka the best manager of all time set him straight.

Whoever busted Allardyce at that restaurant is a national hero tbh. Spare a knighthood for him.

No hating please, this guy just put England through to the semis for the first time since 1990. Brilliant performance today

Two wins away from Gareth Southgate being confirmed as the best manager of all time.
Could Pep win something with Harry Maguire? i doubt it tbh.

Re: WC 2018 | Quarter-Finals | England vs Sweden
Nice to see that Pep, Poch, and Conte influence in the team.
Still think they would do better with having one of their CM's being a link up player rather than a runner. Wilshere would have been useful, but I guess Delph is the closest thing they have to that on their current squad.

We don't really have that player to pick though, he doesn't really exist and if he does he's not that good.
My thought process going into this tournament was show progression ( which we clearly already have) and hopefully develop a playmaker before 2022 because Kane should be in his mental and physical prime then.
But it might not even matter
