Re: WC 2018 | Round of 16 | England Vs Colombia
Also why do people on this forum assume things as fact all the time ?
I watched two of Colombia's games (Japan and Senegal) where they looked meh at best in both, they didn't look good against Japan at all.
Your standards are incredibly low if you think that was a good performance, like I said put England in the same scenario and there's no way in hell that anyone here thinks it's a good performance.
Once again showing clear favouritism if not out right bias.

Re: WC 2018 | Round of 16 | England Vs Colombia
I never said Poland are the representative of the real Colombia. Just that it was one of the more impressive performances against a decent side like how England smashed Panama and everybody were fapping to Kane and co.
They were lucky to WIN against Senegal? Maybe but Senegal were terrible throughout the game to cause much trouble to Colombia's defense. It was not like Senegal outplayed them. Both teams were ok-ish at best and if not for the goal , would have likely ended in a drab 0-0.
Against Japan , they were down to 10 men since minute 3 yet dominated them and could have scored more. I really don't know how anyone can claim a team for being meh when they are playing with a man down for the entire game granted it was their own fault to put themselves in that position in the first place.
And in 2 of those three games in which you claimed they were 'meh', James was available for only about 20 mins in both games and an unfit James at that.
Meanwhile you scraped through against Tunisia through a last minute goal , battered Panama (kudos to that) and lost to Belgium B team who were treating the game like a friendly yet somehow I should be convinced instead I'm being blamed for being biased towards Colombia. Hilarious.
At the end of the day, both you and Colombia finished with equal points in the groups, you scored more while they conceded less compared to you and one could argue, Colombia were playing in a slightly more competitive group in which they TOPPED.
There's nothing much to say here after this really. No need to make up imaginary scenarios just to prove a point.

As if England was Brazil 82 that to beat them you have to be amazing. No one is saying Colombia is gonna smash anyone but that this is a very close tie and that nothing England has done in this WC puts them out of the league of what Colombia has done.
I will revise my opinion to be more neutral and unbiased though, England 7-1 Colombia

Colombia easily. Bet your house, wife and your dog on that.
Football is indeed coming home because its home is in South America.

Re: WC 2018 | Round of 16 | England Vs Colombia
Your the one making up imaginary scenarios lol.
Also I never said Colombia are bad or we should beat them, just that they haven't been impressive so far outside of one game which was against the worst team in the group and arguably bottom 5 in the whole tournament.
I don't see why that should be the takeaway of how rate them rather than two meh performances.
Also yes Senegal were much better than them, they were incredibly unlucky. Colombia did absolutely nothing outside of set pieces and Senegal created many chances which they finished poorly. It's not like Colombia were solid and scored from a set piece, they were beaten 1 v 1 again and again.
There's a reason why I said during that game I'd much rather face Colombia than Senegal.
If these performances are what you consider impressive then your standards for them are incredibly low.

Re: WC 2018 | Round of 16 | England Vs Colombia
I really must have missed all those chances Senegal created then.....
They got into good offensive positions but had zero end product all game. What they did well was press Colombia hard , shut down the spaces and maintain their shape which is why Colombia were struggling to get any sort of rhythm in their game, more so with their talisman James coming off.
Still though, I'd say Senegal were the 2nd best team in the group and were unlucky to go out. So yeah, no doubts England would have had it tough against Senegal too
Besides Poland are better than anything England have faced in their group bar Belgium. Obvious imo.
Now I don't want to look like a guy that's overhyping Colombia and underselling England. Just merely correcting some inaccurate comments that's been made in this thread.
It's a 50-50 tie atleast to me. England have the edge if James misses out.
/End discussion

Relax.
He has been that difference maker and can still be that difference maker. Don't talk out of your ass.
Only thing I'm concerned about now his whether or not his injury will even allow him to play or if he'll even be fit to come off the bench.

I never said it wasn't.....
The issue i have is your overrating their group stage performance tbh.
They might play better, they might not. But their performance so far doesn't justify the way people are going on tbh.

Colombia have more talented players, but they are not disciplined. Hard to decide. Cuadrado can make the difference in any match.

None of us will actually care lol, if anything I feel for those who want us to lose as you are clearly very desperate for it.
No idea how you will deal with it, we are prepared to lose the same can't be said for all those who want us to lose.

So wait, am I supposed to bet the house on England or Colombia? And what are the odds? Will I get more houses if I bet on Colombia and they win? I need another house, one without a wife in it.
Honestly, it is hard to call, Colombia will miss James, but England lose their nerve so often in these games.

I don't necessarily want England to lose, I'd just find it amusing if they went out so quickly after a whole month of the 'football is coming home' rhetoric. But I honestly do think that Colombia will win.

You realise most of us are joking and not being serious?
I know most countries are dense and don't understand the concept of sarcasm but surely it's not that bad?
No one in England truly believes that.
