There is no such a thing as neutrality as an individual. One is bound more or less to the values of the society and own subjectivity. Neutral means not taking a side when two opposing interests clash with each other. Usually, there is no gain/loss for the neutral himself.

"who is the better player" has become a matter of personal preference now. Messi's peak was much higher than CR's (and probably the highest ever tbh)... but CR is an absolute machine.

Personally (and people know what a CR critic I've been), I would take the CR of today no question... but not the CR of 4 years ago. The CR of 4 years ago was a selfish prick with no leadership qualities. He's transformed himself into what he is today... and that's a credit to him.

No banter, I accept Sampaoli was trash but over the course of two games on the pitch so was Messi.

He deserves everything he's getting. I didn't see anyone saying this about Ronaldo when his hattrick got Portugal to the World Cup last time and then he flopped at the groups just like Messi is now.

Agreed riquelme is better in playmaking.

Messi can drop stinkers for the next 5 years and Ronaldo can win Ballon d'ors at the same time and he still won't be better.

Truth is that Ronaldo is better player and better leader since january 2018. I dont know what happened but some sources say he was in special diet and special training program

Messi vs ronaldo argument was boring for the past 9 years. but i think it was not boring it was obvious that messi is better. this is why there was no debate. Now since january first time in his career ronaldo outshines messi. Not counting titles and awards, ronaldo outshines messi on the pitch with his performance. This happens first time. bicycle kick against Juventus and hat-trick against Spain was just legendary. Those two moments made me agree that he outperfoms messi this season, as a messi fan i never accept it but first time i accepted it that Ronaldo performs better

For me as a messi fan i say this: not counting titles and awards Messi has been better for the past 9 years, and ronaldo has been better for the past 6 months. only performance on the pitch counts. This is why i will never accept ronaldo as a better player, let him outperform messi as much as messi outperformed him then we will see
