It should be noted that while Messi might play in a bad team managed by a fraud it's ALL his fault.
Argentina have a great generation and could appoint great coaches but it's MESSI who doesn't allow it. HE installs the trashy managers. HE blocks the great players. It's not about what's best for Argentina, it's not even about what's best for him. It's just about who he likes. Cronyism.

He's his teams best player but he destroys them.
Kick him out after the WC. Bring in a top coach who doesn't have to bow to Messi. That generation should compete for titles, not go out in the group stage.

RG has finally become the Admin we all needed. I am privilege to be in a forum that is ran by this great man. Thank you for this thread.

It was never a doubt in my mind Brother Zigra and brother RG. We have naysayers like Mole and Hans who are having difficulties in dealing with this new reality, trying to call it "boring" and talking about the old days. We live in the now and this isn't boring. As futbol once wrote, Messi needed GOAT midfielders like Iniesta and Xavi to really make him shine. When things aren't to his liking, he sulks and walks around the pitch.

If anything i'd argue calling Messi a failure when his team went to the final in the last WC and Ronaldo's record before this WC was 3 goals in 3 whole WCs not games is the definition of hipster.

As much as a hipster as Mole is, he is correct (to me) that Portugal is better drilled (coached) than Argentina. Not that it helped against Morocco who really were the better side nor was it always the case. Actually, this is a very recent thing but better coached nonetheless.
