Why? At least it wouldn't be one of our rivals.

Croatia is the only team I can live with. Especially since Kovac built the foundation for their success

For some weird reason a Belgian WC would irk me, and I cannot tell you why. As to the countries still in the competition... If Brazil go out, I think, no other nation winning would really annoy me.

Yes I feel the same. And I know why, because I do not want to have to give them credit and take them seriously.
However, I've made plans for that already.
If they win World Cup, we will have to take them seriously, and that will entail taking a serious look at the past.
If they win the World Cup, they can't get away with being the nice little fries eating neighbours anymore.
Then it will be time to have a serious talk about the Congo. I will start to use every opportunity to bring up Leopold.
Forget the holocaust, let's talk about kautshuk

As much as I usually like the England NT, I just dislike this generation. Zero creative midfielders, full of Tottenham melts, Jamie Vardy, Raheem Sterling... ugh. It must be a daily struggle for English Arsenal fans.

None. That's why I would be happy with most teams winning. I kind of don't want Brazil to get another star before we catch up, but Germany internationally IMHO has exactly two rivals:
- Italy, whom we've only beaten once competitively so far, and
- Holland, who just hate us so passionately that it's kind of gotten to a point that we're taking them seriously even though they've never really won anything and we tend to win against them. Also they've been playing the kind of football we secretly wanted to play from the 70s to the 00s.

Re: Dream Big With Lidl
As Italy fan I confirm about Germany (looking at my Schadendreude posts ).. While the other rival (for reasons similar to Holland/Germany) is France. These are our 2.
In fact I don't feel problems to support England but even I'd like it.
I've just realized England don't play tomorrow but the day after tomorrow, sincerely nervous for it ffs I can't wait

Colombia is a strong team. I may be mistaken, but I don't think England can beat them.

You may indeed be mistaken. I'd say the chances for that are 95%.

Re: Dream Big With Lidl
The final will have one of Croatia, Russia, Switzerland, Sweden, Columbia or England.
What makes you think England is better than any of them?
Let alone, who in their right mind would favour England in the final against Brasil, France, Uruguay or Begium?

If England wins it, do you think Peptards will give Pep credit for the triumph like they did with Spain and Germany?

Considering how we play credit should go to Pochettino and Klopp more than Pep tbh.

Pep starts coaching in La Liga in 2008, Spain wins the WC 2010
Pep starts coaching in Bundesliga in 2013, Germany win the WC 2014
Pep starts coaching in Premier League in 2016, England in the WC 2018
this cannot be coincidence tbh
