It's great lol, I've been playing it for like 3 weeks now.
I bought AC Odyssey and the Tomb Raider this week for no reason what so ever other than I could.
I might be a psychopath.

It's really fun and satisfying and a great game to play when there is nothing else on.

Re: FIFA 19
I haven't played FUT on it, yet. That's the one feature that seems to improve every single year, though. I personally prefer FIFA 18 over 19, but that's not as if to say that it's a poor game. I just don't appreciate EA's half-arsed attempts at adding realism to the game. I know some people appreciate it, but the same people seemed to think slowing everything down from FIFA 15 to 16 by 50+% (pre-patch) was a good call. I'm not THAT easy to please Keepers actually pick up loose balls that are within reasonable reach now, but the AI is still as stupid and frustrating as ever.

Re: FIFA 19
Funny enough, i'm experiencing what Madrid has experienced recently. On FUT and Seasons pretty much every match i play i have at least 60% possession, at least 85% pass success rate, but a clear lack of shots in advantageous positions or goals, and my finishing is also not clinical, whilst my opponents might have like 3 shots all game and 3 GOALS as a result of counters, me giving away possession while playing out of the back, stupid corner kicks, being too high up the pitch...
Part of it is me being too stubborn to simply switch to a 41212 and play counters through the middle, but i have to adapt a little with the 433 i use. I find it harder to beat players one on one in this game, which is why most just go through the middle and try through balls, while i literally try to pass the ball into the goddamn net.

I've hardly played the game since I got it. Been so busy I've hardly had time to sleep, lately. Things will go back to normal from monday on. You up for some co-op games then, TMO?

That will be good training for me, I guess. People say FIFA 18 is just like FIFA 19, but the former game just feels a lot smoother and more controllable to me. I like to dribble a lot in 18, but don't feel comfortable doing it in 19. It feels awkward and clunky in comparison.

Re: FIFA 19
Finished the Journey and have stepped away from the game for a bit. Odyssey and D2 taking up all my gaming time now. RD2 will probably supplant one of them when it comes out as well.
I don't understand how they can afford Hans Zimmer to do the music, but not a decent writer to do the story and dialogue

EA dropping all pretexts:
With the end of the Journey and the stagnation of Career Mode and the release of AC Odyssey and RDR2, it's been about a month since I've touched this game.
60 bucks just sitting on my hard drive basically.

Re: FIFA 19
The way they've ignored career mode since the concept of Ultimate Team just kills me. Honestly it was starting to stagnate before that though.
I don't even care about FIFA anymore, sad to say. I'd rather pick up 2K. Not that they're any better, but I think they try a bit harder than EA and my player at least usually has a story mode. Tho I haven't picked 2K up in two years either

EA Sports have patched the hilarious Petr Cech cutscene from Fifa 19 with the following developers note: • Petr Cech was wearing his helmet during negotiation scenes, we have now found him a tie instead. Incredible. pic.twitter.com/VN3DWySSxF

Re: FIFA 19
Played this back to back against PES 2019. Sure FIFA's graphics are more high definition. Sure the atmosphere and presentation is steps ahead of PES. Indeed some animations are very well done too.
But when you get to playing, everything changes. FIFA doesn't feel like football and it doesn't play like football and doesn't even look like football! The pace is so unrealistically quick, there is no inertia on the players as they just float about, the AI plays so predictable and the ball physics seems mouthwatering at times but it is not realistic at all.
Switch to PES and suddenly everything changes. The AI, while still VERY far from perfect, is consistent at least. The ball moves and behaves like a real football and the players certainly have a weight to them that you can use both to your advantage when attacking by sending a defender the wrong way or use it while defending in isolating the attacking players. It just feels like real football.
The best compliment I can give PES is that I play it way better right after watching a football match. It rewards staying true to the game.

Re: FIFA 19
I have barely touched FIFA 19 since I bought it, but early impressions tell me that it's my least favorite FIFA to date. I'm not good at it, and that probably plays into my initial impression, since I'm comparably far better at FIFA 18, but I also don't like the new features.
I absolutely hate their arbitrary attempts at realism. It seems to me that they have a relatively good idea of how to make the game look smoother and more realistic, to some extent, but they have absolutely no clue how to make the entire experience more realistic. I also don't get the impression that they have any clue of what they're doing, in terms of finding a balance between these shallow elements of realism, and being a fun, arcade-y game. None of it matters though, since a lot of people evidently think these half assed features are great improvements. If you ask me, they should stick to what they used to do best, which is to make a fun, arcadey game that doesn't try to be something it's not. PES is the real football simulator.

The new collision animation. It looks great. I was even fooled into believing it looked realistic, for a moment. The collisions themselves, look more emphasized than they did in past games, but the physics involving the ball doesn't make any sense. I've collided so many times with opposing players at high speeds, just for the ball to quitely roll in a seemingly fixed direction (usually towards either goal), through the legs of either player involved.
It allows for one of the involved parts to quickly pick up the ball and resume play, as opposed to having the ball bounce randomly in a wayward direction, and with a force and trajectory relevant to the actual collision. It speeds up the game this way, but I'm not a fan of it - and it sure as hell isn't realistic. It's basically a feature that looks great, but has a very arcadey effect. Style over substance seems to be what they're going for, in general.

Re: FIFA 19
I see what you mean. I have a similar feeling with some of the passes, especially through balls and those curved ground passes. When you do them it feels really good but you then watch the replay and realise how unrealistically the ball moves in relation to the receiver.
Re: FIFA 19
Fifa 19 is the first fifa I brought since 15. I only play career mode. It is exactly the same a 4 years ago. Games 2 days apart, everyone gets tired, cup games against 4th division is harder than Manchester City, crazy pressing like every team is Barcelona.
Since having fun though.
