Heidel has not been a souvereign figure since coming to Schalke.

Of course he is within his rights to complain, but in the case of Goretzka he is a clown for doing so now. Everyone has known for many months that Goretzka was not renewing and eaving Schalke, everyone has known for many months that the most likely destination was Bayern.
Bayern had kept quiet so far. But now we know for sure, and still he is trying to push his fable of "Goretzka has not decided there's still a chance he renews with Schalke".

He's not fooling anyone. MMOst of all, of course since January 1st Goretzka is free to negotiate with clubs officially so there's no tapping up. Heidel complaining pubicly now is just stupid and he's not fooling anyone.

He's doing that to save face for Schalke fans who might very well question a management that lets players' contracts run out one after the other.
They let a young Özil leave because they didn't appreciate him, Rakitic left for peanuts, Fuchs left on a free, Choupo-Moting left on a free, Kolasinac left on a free, so did Matip, so does Goretzka.
Meyer's contract will run out in summer too, he'll be gone on a free too.

Schalke produces the best young talent in Germany and is squandering it haplessly. Cashed in on Draxler and Sané and wonder why the rest of them don't stay around.

Prediction: Watch out for Thilo Kehrer being a target for clubs when he leaves on a free in 2019.

The fact that an equally inexperienced right-back starts ahead of him on the left for the Moroccan team should tell you a lot about his quality. but truth be told, he did keep Salah in his pocket in the 2017 Afcon. hmm

A lot of unproven young players are leaving the French league for unusually high fees. Just a couple of years ago a player like Dembele cost you 15 million. Maybe it's the world cup effect? I'm afraid a lot of clubs will get burnt with some of these hyped up youngsters.

Really thought Joel Campbell would have a better career. He's like the Costa Rican Jordon Ibe. A good amount of talent but never learnt to properly apply it. (Although I'm still kinda hopeful about Ibe).
