Re: Donald Trump watch
94.9% precincts reporting, Evers is down by less than a thousand.
Nobody is talking about it but this vote isn't just about principle and the governor's mansion in terms of policy creation. This vote controls WI redistricting for 2020. Wisconsin is one of the most gerrymandered states in the US.
I don't have much faith. I think we're going to lose by a small margin. There will be a recount and it will confirm Evers lost.
And it will be Walker again.

Thanks CB. Unfortunately the Flint Water Crisis was a catalyst that turned into a referendum on the GOP in this state. Without it, the Dems may have had a tougher time gaining control of the state back.
Georgia governor race is still really tight, as is the Arizona senate race. Still too close to call.

I absolutely hope Pelosi gets booted as Speaker. She's not the right person to take this party forward into 2020. Her speech tonight made me cringe uncontrollably.

If neither reaches 50%, there will be a runoff election in Georgia right?

First of all, good morning and congrats on a decent day for America.
I'm a bit sad Gillum hasn't made it, I liked him, and that the Vermont transgender woman hasn't made it. Really hope Abrams can pull it off, in face of corruption and targeted racist voter suppression.

IMAGINE TONY EVERS LEADING BY 600 WITH 99% PRECINCTS REPORTED
AND THEN A BOMBSHELL IN THE NAME OF MILWAUKEE'S ABSENTEE BALLOTS THROWS 30K INTO HIS TOTAL TO CLINCH IT
Walker probably won't be close enough to even get a recount! It's 1:30 AM, I work tomorrow, I'm too happy and too excited to sleep
no more walker, I cant believe it. I'm in shock. This is amazing. The guy is a crook of crooks. He did his best to decimate public education in Wisconsin. Evers is state superintendent of education and education is one of his top priorities. I'm currently in classes to be a teacher.
And a Dem governor means that a neutral arbiter will probably have to come in to create Wisconsin districts for 2020 decade.
This is an incredible victory.

Did a dead pimp really win an election?

You don't need to go farther than this election to see the kind of impact this might have on future elections in Florida.
Huge measure. Florida narrowly lost out tonight, but that referendum passing was THE most important win for Democrats in Florida, absolutely

It's an embarrassment for Walker and Trump.
Evers is the most bland candidate I've ever seen in my life. People didn't really vote for Evers. They voted against Walker, Trump and the GOP

MSNBC just officially called WI for Evers.
Congrats on slaying the Walker beast, CB .

Dean Heller has lost in Nevada to Jacky Rosen. Dems pick up a Senate seat. However Jon Tester is still behind in Montana so it looks like the GOP are going to win that 6-seat advantage right back.

Bland he is, but I don't mind him. Education is his #1 priority and after the beatdown walker put on the UW system AND public schools in general, it's what the state needs. I've had to continually drive back to my home district in WI to vote for referendums to provide more money to the school district because our district is underfunded. And the UW system is essential to Wisconsin. Anyone from the Midwest can tell you how important our flagship research universities are.
Other than education, which was the key issue obviously, Evers says and wants to do all the right typical Democrat things. Expand Medicaid, start getting to work on the roads. Nothing special but the right things to do for sure. Better than ratface who is going the opposite direction in all those things.
And as I said, HUGE win for redistricting in one of the worst gerrymandered states in America.

Last I saw Nate Cohn was high on Tester keeping that seat. I'm not paying attention (finally going to bed) so I don't know what % is reported, and it looked like it was going to be close either way, but I guess we'll see.

Very close right now actually. Just several thousand votes separating them. Tester is behind by like 4 tenths of a percent.

Re: Donald Trump watch
Democrats did quite well in Texas tonight. Colin Allred beating Pete Sessions is one of the surprises of the night to me. Sessions was a 11-time incumbent and his district was expected to be safe for the GOP.
Texas may be as red as it's been known to be right now, but I think that will change gradually over the next few years. Democrats have a real chance in the state now. Beto and Allred have shown them the way.

Re: Donald Trump watch
I think the biggest victory other than taking back the House is that over 100 women will head to Congress in January, the most in American history. I believe 16 of them will be first-time congresswomen.
- Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez from New York and Abby Finkenauer from Iowa are the youngest women ever elected to Congress. Both are 29. Ocasio-Cortez is younger by 2 months.
- Rashida Tlaib from Michigan and Ihlan Omar from Minnesota are the 1st Muslim women elected to Congress.
- Sharice Davids from Kansas and Debra Haaland from New Mexico are the 1st Native American women elected to Congress.
This is all thanks to Trump.

Re: Donald Trump watch
Not for Dems but they can start to ramp up real political pressure AND be obstructionist if they want.
They have a say in Trump's government now. That's big no matter how you spin it.
Obviously, Dems aren't gonna be passing any sort of legislation because of this. And I doubt very much in the way of bipartisan legislating will happen...but that's not really important for Dems now anyway in Trump's administration.
