And we are somehow bashed for inflating the market while clubs like Pool drop £100M on Southampton level players increasing market value of average players as a result. Laughable

Atleast we spend money on quality. Lukaku aside, we've been the most prudent spending clubs in the league.

We still managed 100 goals the season Firmino had like 9 league goals. Goals was never a problem for the team and Salah was a luxury we needed after a CB, LB and a CM. Just because Salah has come in and scored 20 doesn't mean we attribute every thing he's doing right now as something he was specifically bought for.

NO EXCUSES for Flopp now, and I don't think VVD will have a big influence on their defense tbh, he isn't that good. PL market is madness. Makes Bailly look like bargain of the century since he's already had more top performances in the PL than VVD has in his entire career.

Bailly's been out most of the season, so yeah.

Anyway, I can see this backfiring on Loserpool TBH. Let us remember that Lovren well highly rated when they signed him too, I actually think even more so than VVD. VVD will score a corner every now and then and people will overlook how he's relatively mediocre at the back. You aren't signing some world class player here. Klopp will surely have to finish top 4 now to keep his job.

I forgot Fonte was highly rated too, that entire Soton team were tbh

like I said, VVD is a solid CB but I'm not convinced he's elite or even great, I'm trying to think of other good CB's you could have spent that money on though and I'm drawing a blank, the market for them is just going to keep rising IMO. Not many elite available.
