Real Madrid vs Levante
Right so after officially being KO'd of the WC qualifiers (not like I needed anything official to see that), I could take the sorrow of watching my country fail once again out of my mind and get some Real Madrid going.
After the showing against Valencia, both Bale and Benzema would definitely be under a gigantic microscope as Old man Bill and the Bernabeu would be on them from minute 1. Please be gentle Bill, these guys have the most fragile of egos apparently.
Team News:
Casemiro, Navas and Varane unlikely to start due to injuries so minus those 3, expect the usual suspects to be kicking a ball.
Goalkeepers: Casilla and Luca.
Defenders: Carvajal, Nacho, Marcelo, Theo, Vallejo, Ramos
Midfielders: Kroos, Casemiro, Asensio, Isco, Ceballos, Marcos Llorente, Kovacic.
Attackers: Bale, Benzema, Lucas Vázquez.
Levante News:
After winning in week 1 v Villareal and drawing 2-2 with Espanyol, they are prime to, yet again, probably lose in the Bernabeu. No idea what is their actual team news but it wouldn't matter really.

They are about to put that to the test really. Hopefully we put this to bed by HT, have EPL to watch.

Re: Real Madrid vs Levante
I don't think it's possible we put a game to bed by HT without Ronaldo. I'd be happy with 1 goal by HT... 2 and I'm in heaven.
We're missing Casemiro, Navas and Varane. Not sure how we don't concede a goal here.
EDIT: Notice I'm trying to put my expectations at exactly.... zero.... with our veteran strikers so anything above that will be a pleasant surprise. I'm tired of getting upset.

Re: Real Madrid vs Levante
well Danilo is playing quite poorly, he has gotten dominated by some poor chap called Ivi
poor game, not a lot of good football, and goals on set pieces, disappointing. Zidane pulls 442 out of his ass like nothing, crap tactic, players don't know what to do ffs

Re: Real Madrid vs Levante
Danilo would have given Ivi a hattrick by now, let's not compare those 2 just because Carvajal is having a poor start to the season. That being said, Dani has been at fault to quite a bit of goals so far.
Shame really, was looking forward to watching more of the City - Pool match.

He's been at fault for every goal this season. If he wasn't Spanish he'd get killed.
Can he really not focus without being pressured every game?
I have never seen Danilo make an action as horrible as what Carvajal did on that goal. He stopped up and did a 360 instead of marking the man with the ball.

Re: Real Madrid vs Levante
I good laugh at the action, Dani is still looking for the ball. But I've seen Danilo do equally worse things so again, I'm not gonna jump on Dani's back (yet) just because of a poor start especially after having such a consistent season last year.

we failed to improve the team. bale and benzema are crippled, we sold the young, good striker and replaced him with borja fecking mayoral. we lacked ambition imo. we should have gone for mbappe and de gea, to make a statement as world champions, but we are happy in mediocrity, watching the british donkey and shitzema on weekly basis

Re: Real Madrid vs Levante
we deserve a shit season to realize that Benzema and Bale are mediocre and need to be changed, maybe this is what will happen. since we failed to improve the team when we are winning, maybe we will improve the team when we are losing.

Re: Real Madrid vs Levante
Dani had another stinker, Bale actually repeated his Valencia performance and Marcelo decided to forget he is 30 year old and be a complete ass. What a match. Surprised we didn't actually lose...
Ronaldo being a complete clown pushing the ref really turned out to be such a huge error.

Re: Real Madrid vs Levante
I agree Dani has been bad defensively. HOWEVER, today's game at 1pm with the sun fully shining was a factor. Not only did Dani have no idea were the ball was (or was going), neither did any of the other Real players. It retrospect it was a fluke goal, but I agree, Dani should have marked his player much more closely. Not to mention his offensive game has been top touch, in both ties. The real problem has been the lack of scoring.

Re: Real Madrid vs Levante
At least Marcelo's red was a correct call.
Ronaldo red, Ramos red and two penalties today not called has cost ud a lot.
Can't believe how big of an idiot Marcelo is though...
I think Carvajal should be benched tbh. At this point it's better to play anyone else to show how this level of play has consequences.

Re: Real Madrid vs Levante
Actually, I agree with ya Freeza. Maybe a lil bench time would sort out his mindset at the moment. He'll definitely still be our go to RB but he is definitely not at full speed. For whatever reason.

If these last 5 years has showed anything, it is that our players are shit when they've got no competition. Benzema played so well in Higuain's last season and then dropped in level when we sold him.
Same can be seen with Carvajal now.
I'm a huge proponent of using punishment for bad performances by benching.
It's my own personal experience that it works. Players just start working harder, unless they've got a Ronaldo mentality and never really need that thing to stay motivated.
It's the absolute best quality Ronaldo has.

Re: Real Madrid vs Levante
so benzema's going to be out for over a month. with no co-center forward (i don't count mayoral as an adequate back up), i guess cristiano will have to fill that slot. btw how does benzema get injured? this dude didn't play during the international break, hasn't played a national team game in ages, and the club puts all its eggs in his basket? when will we learn
