Those shitty sources are your holy & very much reliable English press: Express, BR, Guardian etc. Also a couple of sources in Spain.

I'm not the one to judge which source is more reliable than the other, AFAIK even the most reliable ones tend do spew absolute nonsense every now and then.

I don't get it either, if i was a player ( whose important to the club) i'd negotiate shorter contracts.

The club will agree if the player is important and if you want to leave it will be easier for you to get out.

You can we made Suarez stay last time, He got us the CL won POTY and scored 31 goals in 30 and left.
