we didn't extend Ibra predictably, damn shame he got that injury, helped us tremendously last season but completely understandable we wouldn't extend, stil has a lot to offer at the highest level if fit, hope he doesn't go to a jobber league when he's fit again, if he's fit again

Sorry not up to date with the situation, but not extending just due to his injury? How long will he be out for? Seems strange to not extend such a huge star and he performed well this season.

china has put a 100% tax rate on all transfers of foreign players. that's the end of the Chinese pay day for the greedy players.

tax isn't my strongest suit, sorry, so that means the Chinese government gets all of the transfer money of foreign players?
That doesn't sound right to me.

no. it means if a club buys costa for 60mil they will have to pay 60mil in tax as well as the 60mil to Chelsea so costa would cost them 120mil.El Gunner wrote:tax isn't my strongest suit, sorry, so that means the Chinese government gets all of the transfer money of foreign players?

Not the Chinese government per se. It goes into a development program to develop their home grown players. Apparently, they're targeting a 2026 World Cup bid and want to have a good team by then.

Has to be 2030. You can't have World Cup in the same continent two times in a row.

Re: English Premier League '16-'17 Discussion - Part 14
They can't have 2030 either. The continent of the bidding country cannot have hosted any of the last 2 tournaments.
2014: South America
2018: Europe
2022: Asia
2026: NA, SA, Africa or Australia
2030: Not Asia and not the 2026 one
CONCACAF has already confirmed a bid for the 3/4 of the games to be played in the US, and the rest in Mexico and Canada.
