Apparently, Nothing should be expected from Guardiola nor should he be held accountable for any failure until he gets his half a billion squad?
That's really the opposite of what's usually happening. We can start with the use of the word 'failure'.

I mean i get he's great and all and you want great players, but seems like it's not exactly something they need.
Unless they slowly want to phase out Silva(would be confusing to someone who doesn't follow football lmao) i suppose.
Pep is rejuvenating an aging squad
Pep isn't at City for short term success like Mou, where he leaves a team worse than before he came every single time. He's there to turn City into a powerhouse for years to come.

Not sure how he fits into City's lineup. KDB and Silva are currently the CM's/CAM. Gundogan is a definite starter, at which point KDB moves wide. Jesus on the other side and Aguero up front.
Plus Silva hasn't shown any signs of declining and is still one of their best players.

Silva mainly plays on the wing MT, i think in the short terms it's more likely he replaces Sterling.

He's in a unique position because he inherited a team in which half the players were over 30. He's been tasked with making the transition from the old guard to the new guard.
The City board was always going to judge him for his performances with the new guard.
City wants to become an elite European team and they want him to oversee that an entire operation, and they're willing to give him chances and opportunities due to his CV.

Pep isn't benching Sane lmao. If there's one player who is a guaranteed starter after Gundogan it's Sane.

Bernado Silva is a cracking signing for City. I hope we get Mendy though.

Silva off and Jesus to get plenty of minutes or something
wouldn't be surprised if Sterling gets sold cut price too
good signing for Arsenal

There's no way Aguero starts ahead of Jesus unless Jesus is injured.

Unless he's changed he's mind for some reason they play 4-1-4-1
The 4 would be Sane, Silva, De Bruyne and Silva i imagine.

Quite honestly, Cas.
The 'ageing squad', 'transitioning'. 'building for he future' really are BS narratives and don't serve as explanations, let alone excuses.
The squad isn't ageing. They have old players, and young players.
They have spent most money on players in world football for the last years.
They are even increasing spending now that Pep is there.
He's got a star studded team, and they buy anyone he wants for him.
There are no excuses for him, period. If he doesn't play successful, that's on him.
He was the one who ousted Hart and bought Bravo. Bravo was the current starting GK of Barca ffs. I understood the move, but it was Pep's move and so it's on him that it backfired.
They spent shitloads on defenders. If their defense is not working, it's either on Pep or on his Barca buddies board.
His City season was underwhelming even when taking all factors ('excuses') into account. Period.
But 'failure'? Yeah, let's see how he does next season, also in CL.
I'm not going to call this season's CL campaign by City a failure, Monaco were a strong opponent.
But overall, Pep didn't get the balance right.

Aguero scored 30 goals in all competitions this season. Still a goat striker. City need at least 2 goalscorers in their starting lineup imo.

I honestly don't think Auba's in the same category as the elite forwards around today tbh
anyway I hope he doesn't join Milan because I don't see Milan spending on both he and Morata and there are a lot of rumors about Morata to Utd circulating today
pls no, needs to be Milan bound

What a steal
Bernardo Silva for the same amount an agent can expect when dealing with Ed Woodward.

Quite honestly, Hans.
How is rebuilding a team that's aging a BS narrative? Did you see the squad they had at the end of Pellegrini's last season? The key players of the Mancini and Pellegrini era are old now, and need replacing. That's the truth.
Fact is he can't replace an entire team in one summer, regardless of City's purchasing power. Especially when many of those players had one year left on their contracts who quite frankly had no incentive to leave because no other team was gonna offer a salary close to what they currently had at City.
Let me ask you, do you seriously think if Pep had the opportunity to make further changes, that he wouldn't have done so? You can't underestimate the point I made above.
Obviously, the signings didn't pan out the way most expected, and they backfired, so I won't bother getting into that. However, at the time it's not like those signings didn't make sense, in fact they did.
Also, I've never denied that his first season was underwhelming. I've repeatedly stated that.
However, WTF is the point in posting anymore if all people want to read is "Pep is a fraud, herp derp"
Let's be honest it's the ones who hate Pep that expect those incredibly high standards. Yet, when you give them reasons as to why he didn't do as well as he did in his former clubs, you are automatically labeled a 'fanboy' who is just offering up excuses for his 'failures'.
I don't enjoy viewing football in black and white, and it's a shame that only a handful of people on this forum (including you) don't as well.

This is it honestly
You can't have a meaningful conversation about anything related to City or Guardiola without someone saying it.
You say anything related to it positive or negative or something that has absolutely nothing to do with City or to do with Guardiola has the two are not always linked.
It's like watching a reddit or twitch chat, it's an unbelievably toxic environment, you'd get more chance of finding a conversation with a random on twitter which is more preferable than the responses you get on here.
I honestly wish Guardiola's success never happened, it's breeded some absolute horrid personalities within people.
