On him being sacked though, I can't see it but not because I expect him to win or anything.
But because for Billionaire owners they are incredibly patient, I remember people were saying Pellegrini should be sacked every year for like 3 seasons and they never did until Pep came available.
I can't see them giving up after two seasons regardless of the results.

On City, we have apparently made an offer for Mangala.
Would take tbh.

World record fee for Ederson etc
Literally half a billion of insane asinine spending
Pep should have his contract rescinded if he can't win league or CL next season imo
No amount of 'faults' or 'happy new year' clownish interview taunts is going to save him next season. He's going to be a marked man next season and rightfully so.
Is he hell. All those players bar Walker are 23 years old or younger. In five years time they'll be worth that and a lot more besides. Not that it matters, none of them will be going anywhere.
They're young, coachable and the new generation of stars just like Sane and Gabriel Jesus.
When he does eventually leave and that will be his decision totally the next guy will have an amazing group of players.
Team needed rebuilding so why wait 4 years when we have the finance to do it in 2.

Well he's played well enough for Valencia to try and get him although they haven't got the 20 million euros.

Re: 2017/18 Summer Transfer Rumors Mk. I
was reading through the thread and just wanted to say something on the Pep thing, since it's a hot topic.
Those ridiculous fees that everyone is saying "PEP IS SPENDING MILLIONS" etc etc. That just seems dumb to me, as that's clearly City/Txiki making those deals. They have been making those deals well before Pep arrived, and will continue to make them after Pep leaves. Pep likely selected some players or approved some players he would like, what the sporting director them does with that and how much he spends is not Pep...that's Txiki. That's something that happened under Pellegrini and Mancini, and will continue to happen. City just don't give a crap and will pay whatever to get what they believe they need. Not sure how that ruins Peps rep...as if he controls what the club is spending, and as if he needs to only select 12 year canteros to prove he's a good manager. He is rebuilding to keep the team growing for years to come, it's smart.

InterMalia wrote:It's good to have rich owners and you don't have to sell your better players for peanuts ie. Coutinho and Kovacic. If Utd wants Perisic, they'll have to pay up
Inter's owners are probably the richest in football outside of the clubs owned by sovereign funds, e.g. PSG.
While selling Kovacic might have been a mistake, though looking less so now, Coutinho could not play against Serie A defenses, he lost the ball every time he was passed to. He was a disaster for Inter. Some players do better in different leagues.

true that Breva, selling Coutinho was the right thing to do, nmw level he is at right now.
People who don't follow Calcio don't understand this, but in Serie A even the Cesena guys know how to defend properly. Was not a great fit in this league.
on the counterpart, selling Perisic would be incredibly dumb, he's your best player along with Icardi. Add Berardi to that and you have a very dangerous trident up front.

Says the Buyern fan
While i don't disagree, i find it incredibly hilarious that fans of big clubs are complaining about this. You all have been guilty of this many times over the years and the reason why you have such storied history.
Because you can outmuscle the smaller teams when ever you feel like doing so, honestly very few people on this forum can actually complain about this objectively.
I'm one of them.

I can confidently predict all of these will be giantic flops. Paying 50m for 4 1 season wonders
City are of course entitled to waste their money how they like, but their transfer strategy is kinda like "we don't have any scouts so how about we raid the team that beat us in the CL, we already took a look at those guys"

Re: 2017/18 Summer Transfer Rumors Mk. I
That's irrelevant.
Fact is you spend money to buy out your competition every time the temperature rises.
You have no right to complain about this, neither does any big club fan.
I can understand a middle of the table fan complaining, they have a definite gripe to bear as it prevents them from ever competing ever again. But the likes of Juventus, Man Utd, Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Chelsea, Real Madrid and so on?
The only difference is as more money comes into the game, the scale changes but the premise is the same.
Nope, you have no leg to stand on.

City are actually buying talent from other leagues actually improving the league without destroying their competition, making the EPL better in the process

Mole you're so full of shit.
Just coming off a season where you bombarded the 2nd league with an EL team level budget
What, 3rd biggest spenders in the world last season?
You're just completely full of shit.
Newcastle
You probably have a higher transfer record paid from back in the beginning of the 2000s then we have had since, despite inflation, including serial CL finals.

Re: 2017/18 Summer Transfer Rumors Mk. I
We spent less than zero net mate.
Not our fault PL clubs want to overspend on our cast offs.
Also before the last 2-3 seasons where we had to spend because Pardew let our players go for nothing.
We had a net spend of -50m over a close to a 10 year period, please do not try and argue that we are lavish spenders because you will look very stupid.
Also if you want to use the record transfer argument, our record was broken 12 whole years ago and the record before that was 9 years prior.
So yeah, don't try it lol.

Re: 2017/18 Summer Transfer Rumors Mk. I
Either ways massive massive pressure on Pep to deliver the league or CL next season.
You don't spend a billion and then give poverty excuses like ' the team will be elite in 3 years, he doesn't need to win immediately'and all that hot garbage . Ain't nobody got time for that. Atleast Mourinho won a treble this past season despite all the criticisms. Pep on the other hand simply got no excuses.
He's paid €25M a year to win trophies first and foremost . He failed miserably in his first season after spending £200M. He's more than doubled his budget now and he's aiming at buying an entire new starting eleven.
He or his followers will have no legs to stand on if he doesn't deliver major trophies next year. Simple as that.

Nobody is actually going to defend him if he fails to deliver a major trophy tbh.
I certainly won't anyway, i didn't defend him this year either despite all this lol. Already said i felt like he flopped.
