the goal post is not moving around. here we have a player that made a career at missing big moments and if we sit here and count them we have a few.

and here you are saying that he is no longer a bg game/finals flop because he put two past monaco.

a single moment doesnt correct multiple instances of him screwing up before.

Well, you do have to remember this is the same fan base that is more divided on issues than the Palestinians and Israelis. It's the same fan group that actually cheered when their 100M signing, Bale, went down injured. I mean, take that as you will.

The whole big game flop argument seems contradictory because it is solely based on history but then in the next post, the only time that matters is now. People just spreading their own agendas when and where it suits them.

First off, the fan base didn't sign Bale nor did we cheer when he went down, well the majority didn't. Also, it's not a beehive, we all have our own opinions on what Madrid should be.

Secondly, you didn't watch Higuain during his time at Madrid. I know this because those who did knows he had serious "big game" issues. No agenda or goal post moving, it's just factual. However, since he left Madrid and went Italy, he has been slowly shaking off those shackles that seem to have buckled him down.

Maybe it was bound to happen or maybe a change of scenery helped. The fact remains, however, I would have sold Benzema to Napoli instead.

I'm well aware of Higuain's big game deficiencies, he had them at Real, Argentina and even with Napoli I can remember him missing a penalty that cost them the CL, getting a foolish red card last year that ended their scudetto chase and not being a factor in the Juventus games.

I would never dispute them. I just mean it doesn't matter today. He scored two goals away in the CL semi final, he scored 2 goals away at Napoli in the Coppa Italia semi final, he's having a tremendous season by all standards and best of all, it isn't finished yet.

While it is discussion worthy to look at the past, it is more prudent to consider this season, the last game and the next one when discussing a player who has been in the form of his life, playing for a team that is firing on all cylinders and competing in all competitions- that's the story.

1 missed penalty, 1 missed chance

Thought he was relatively poor tonight but the goal is all that matters. He outperformed Kane over the course of the tie. He's still an elite striker.

9 goals and 1 assists in the last 7 games while playing awesome.
