Defense: Musacchio
Midfield: Kovacic, Vidal, Luiz Gustavo, Fabregas. [Sky]

Attack: Morata, Benzema and Aubameyang [Sky]

In general I agree with that but there are too many scrubs in Milan's midfield. Vidal and Fabregas would be gods in front of Sosa and Pasalic.

Still not sure what to think of Kovacic sometimes, he only shows his talent a few times per year and in situations were he should be the one straight off the bench to replace Kroos or Modric he doesn't leverage his chances fully. Maybe he needs that weekly game time to blossom, would not shock me if he doesn't stay past this summer

This is exactly what he was like at Inter. Except that he had a higher position in Inter so he for the most part began the seasons as a starter, but then he wouldn't show his worth and would lose his position the more ineffective he became. Then he would sub in and amaze, only to disappoint the next time.

Should have signed for Liverpool instead of Madrid. Would have been a starter and his progression would have been similar to Coutinho.

Instead he's gonna be a bencher at Madrid for at most for another season and then sold off having wasted crucial developmental years sitting on his ass. Pity.

I think this will be a very long summer for us. Despite the change in ownership, none of the players we've been linked to excites me in the slightest bit. I pray we don't get any of Mussachio, Fabregas or Gustavo

as for the strikers, I'd take anyone over Bacca right now

Not in his position. Kovacic would be a much more developed player had he joined Liverpool.

If we want a creative playmaker type we can get better for far less and younger, plus without the baggage

On that cue:

Mirabelli's added Kovacic's name to Milan's targets for the midfield, his name has been approved by Montella [@FabrizioRomano].

.@FabrizioRomano adds that a transfer for Kovacic wouldn't be a problem, but the real issue is his price tag (over €30m right now).

Tbh, if you sign a destroyer alongside Fab, a midfield three of Jack-DM-Fab would be top notch.

Certainly better than what Kovacic would bring to that midfield.

Having said that, I don't see Fabregas leaving, while not a sure starter, he gets game time in almost every game and is a massive part of our team.
