Ozil was in contention for poty year and only lost it because Mahrez had a better year (no, vardy was not as good as ozil). And he started this season exceptionally again.
I don't know if you've been actually watching arsenal and Germany games as of recent but ozil has improved his overall game and physicality a good amount in the past year or so.

Yeah well Firmino and Coutinho have been great as well. At least as good if not better than Ozil to start this season.
