Yeah thats what I'm saying. We might only see the best of either Khedira or Pjanic, but not both at the same time. At least not until however long it takes for Pjanic to adapt.

Re: Juventus Champions League campaign 2016-17
Haha yeah, thankfully I woke up to see the second half.
I mean C'mon lads, I know we won and I cannot complain and... But we won when we were 11 men VS 10. I was really disappointed in the first half. We play really badly and cannot impose our game. The second half was much better, but it was only because Sevilla were 1 man down and were doing their best to not concede. Our first goal from a dubious penalty call. The second goal, we worked hard for but the opposing team with a disadvantage. The third goal? Just makes the result "look" better, but it means nothing much.
We did not play 433. The formation they show is just to fool you. It is 451 and very defensive too, like the 352.
Pjanic, really really poor. He isn't proving on the field that he is the star player we have been waiting for. Maybe he needs to play in a more attacking position IMO to link up play. Maybe in a 4231 as a trequartista like Roma used to play sometimes last season.
Alex Sandro looked a bit tired today. He needs a rest. Rugani needs lots of playing time to improve and become more stable. He made some good interceptions when Sevilla were counter-attacking. Clearly though, he needs lots of time in his legs to become better.
Mandzukic, I mean you got to love him for his work rate and sacrafice. He is everywhere.
STURARO: I hope that he will improve and these silly passes he is giving away are not an introduction for the mistakes he will do in the bigger games. He needs to improve his crosses too... Too many significant giveaways!
Khedira: We need Witsel.
Man of the Match, no doubt it is Bonnuci, solid.
Tbh, I do not feel so excited about this win, but of course, I am happy about the result. We still could do a lot better. Plus, it is important to mention that we were missing our main attack.

I've said a lot of negative things in the last post, but I would like to point out the good things I saw from the match. Allegri Allegri Allegri... His substitutions were really good and I did not expect him to bring off Evra. I expected to see Sturaro replace Sandro. He was brave to bring Kean in as well! Chiellini was the cherry on top after the goal! Well done!

Re: Juventus Champions League campaign 2016-17
Its Sevilla away. We couldn't have expected more than what we saw at the beginning of the game.
Watch some highlights of their game against Barca 2 weeks ago, they made them look like absolute kids in the first half and were unlucky to only be 1 goal up at the break.
Thats how they do. And we did much better than Barca in that start, the game was a battle in the midfield and we didn't let them play their game just like they didn't let us play ours. Sampaoli came out with 6 midfielders. There was no way to get a flowing passing game.
Then they scored in their first shot and they only shot once more with 11 men.
People are getting too hyped about Juve being some super team that shouldn't suffer to win. This was an away game to a great team that's giving everyone hell. They already beat Atletico at home, and like I said the had Barca 1-0 down in the first half too.
4 starters plus 2 of our best subs injured and we win away at Sevilla 1-3.
Take it and celebrate a really hard fought win.

Re: Juventus Champions League campaign 2016-17
A lot of room for improvement, but respect has to be shown to Sevilla. They beat Atletico and should have beat Barca. They hadn't conceded in the CL yet. They are third in La Liga over Atleti and just 2 points from Barca. And they were playing at home.
The CL is this and we just won our group for the first in who know how many years!
We STILL haven't been able to field our best 11 in any game. Our first and second choice strikers were injured, our first, second and fourth choice CB were out. And we won.
With all the crap happening to the team in terms of injuries and adaptation periods we topped out group and stand first in Serie A with an imposing 33 points in 13 games. Thats a smashing pace.

I wanna see Kean play longer in a game. It hasn't been enough to really judge him yet. He made 1 bad decision today in a counter but he is young and it happens. The good thing is that he has confidence to try stuff even though he is a 16 year old playing in the CL.

Kean didn't touch, it was headed by the Sevilla player. Still good on him for fighting it out like that.

I think we are saving energy so far in these games for later stages so we don't end up exhausted in the 60min like last year against BM.

injuries have nothing to do with saving energy and reserving power for later bro . The injuries are in midfield most consistent because 2 weeks ago we had only 2 healthy players playing all the games.
We aren't giving our 100% and its pretty obvious

Re: Juventus Champions League campaign 2016-17
Today's result was as good as could be expected. You need to understand we had both of our world class forwards out of the lineup. Not to mention 2 out of our 3 starting defenders. If you take the two best players out of any lineup from any team they will suffer.
Plus Sevilla is actually a very good team, they are probably better than any Italian team other than a healthy Juve. And they were playing at home. I was actually expecting a tie, I didn't think we could win this really. But we got lucky with the penalty call and also the red card. The red card was fully deserved as replays show both were legit yellow card fouls. Whoever says otherwise doesn't know football. As for the penalty I've seen softer calls than today so although it was a soft call it was technically a foul by the book, so the referee was not wrong to call it, it's just that that type of foul doesn't normally get called. But it was done right in front of the ref and he saw it so therefore it was a legit call.
As for Pjanic he needs to play in a more advanced role. I would like to see him play as a trequartisa in a 4-3-1-2 set up. I am hoping we get a midfielder in January, perhaps Witsel, so that Allegri can free up Pjanic to play more advanced. Pjanic is like Pogba. He will be invisible for a good portion of the game but then can take over a game in a few minutes and either set up a goal or score a goal himself. Also, he needs to play in his proper position in order to be effective, just like Pogba.
Don't worry we will be a different team in January. We are already way ahead of last years pace at this time. Remember last year we were not in first place in Serie A in November and we finished in 2nd place in our CL group. This year we will finish first in our CL group and we already have a 7 point advantage in Serie A even with the two losses at San Siro. With Napoli out of the picture our only true competition is Roma, who we all know will do their regular choke job come March. So unless Milan perform a miracle the Serie A title is ours to lose.
Let's just hope we get a good draw for the round of 16. And let's hope we get a good midfielder in January. And let's hope Allegri plays Pjanic in a more advanced role and we switch to a 4-3-1-2. I think that is the formation we need to play in order to get Champions League glory.

Aren't the injuries happening with Dybala, Higuain Chiellini all muscle related? These kind of injuries mostly happen due to fatigue, which means that they are tired and need a rest. Dybala and Higuain have been playing constantly for 7 games without a rest in September/October. I can see Khedira getting injured soon. Dybala was playing always, non-stop. Higuain came in a bit later.

They aren't always result of fatigue. Higuain got a knock during the game, Barzagli injured his shoulder, Chiellini is getting those injuries 3 years in a row. The only one from real muscle injury is Dybala, he got it during a game.

I forgot about Bonnuci's injury recently too. Pjanic also had fatigue. Khedira too missed some games due to injury... Sturaro also just came from injury...
These injuries are excessive tbh. From one department to the other. First it was in midfield then defense and now attack....
Changing topic, I am looking at the groups now and I am seeing that if we end up second, the probability of facing a stronger team is less. Bayern just lost today and so 90% they are second unless Atletico lose today. We cannot face Napoli due to the same country rule (if they end up second).
So at this point if we end up first, we could face LIST A:
Arsenal/PSG
Man City
Bayern
Leverkuson
Real Madrid
Porto
(Besiktas- IF NAPOLI DON'T QUALIFY)
If we end up second LIST B:
Arsenal/PSG
Benfica
Barcelona
Atletico
Monaco
Dortmund
Leicster
Real Madrid could take over Dortmund only if they beat them in the final round.
On paper LIST B is easier than LIST A.

List B has Barca and Atletico. Right there I'd rather avoid it. Plus Madrid will likely beat Dortmund so they'll end up in that list too.
It will be similar either way.

Guardiola's Man City are a team to fear IMO, and we all know Bayern. PSG and Arsenal are not a problem at all for me. We have a better team overall.

Besiktas came from a 3-0 loss to a 3-3 draw! This changes stuff! If Napoli (Hopefully) win today and secure a draw in their final game, then Benfica/Besiktas could be in List A

The only team against whom i feel we have less than 50% chance to pass to next round is Barcelona.
I'm not afraid of Bayern, Real, Atleti or any english team. But two games against the MSN trio, that's kind of frightening.

Errrr, don't go that far. We are not amazing, but we are getting the results at the end of the day.
Real Madrid can be easier, but Bayern are difficult, maybe weaker this year without pep?
WE NEED TO HAVE OUR BEST LINE UP BY MARCH!

Are people really that confident with the way we're playing that we can so comfortably pass the biggest teams in the competition?
We got outplayed comfortably by Inter and AC Milan, imagine what an undefeated Madrid or a full strength (AKA not the team they played against Rostov) Bayern could do to us
