Pjanic played really really really well. He was everywhere, doing every sort of passes and moves.

I never thought that a double pivot of Khedira and Pjanic would work this good. Khedira was flawless today. He had less responsibilities compared to when he plays as a box to box but this is the correct way to use him in my opinion. I want to see more of that.

Re: Juventus Match Hub 2016-17
Bein do an interview with Allegri and ask him about his future and about Mandzukic's position and he silences all idiots! The idiots keep saying Allegri is gonna leave and that playing with 4 in the back is the way for Juve to win lol...
When he was was interviewed, he laughed (smiling) saying that he has a contract for 1 year and a hlaf and he is staying for sure lol... Unbelievable and really unprofessional Bein idiots today.
Mandzukic is undroppable but having him on the field means he has to sacrafice.

Re: Juventus Match Hub 2016-17
Max Allegri explains how he came up with his new-look Juventus against Lazio. “Nobody expected me to actually do it!”
Paulo Dybala and Gonzalo Higuain were on target in the 2-0 victory, which was sealed with a 4-2-3-1 formation including Juan Cuadrado, Mario Mandzukic and Miralem Pjanic.
“Paradoxically with so many attacking players, we allowed little or nothing to Lazio,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.
“During the week I hadn’t even thought about it, but after a training session the next morning I thought, I have to change something.
“I had said yesterday in the Press conference that it was an option, but nobody expected me to actually do it!
“Mandzukic has gone back in time, because he played in that role when he was much younger. He also has a never-ending engine and isn’t even tired at the final whistle. He did very well today defending and in terms of technique.
“I don’t have to make anyone happy. I am not much of a theorist, but every now and then I come up with a mad idea and try it on the pitch. The important thing is to be sure what you’re doing.”
Can this system become the permanent approach for Juventus going forward?
“It’s one of the options, certainly. Everyone was involved and played a great game as a team. This side has the technical quality to challenge anyone and we need to use all of that to succeed in Europe.
“Today we made a few mistakes and could’ve had many more goals.”

Pjanic sitting deeper - 96% passes completed. Perhaps no goals or assists but instrumental

You have to use a desktop for the twitter account. And then when you cut and paste the embedded tweet you have to take out the emojis for the embed to work.

Khedira plays in the double pivot with Germany. That's actually his best position. He has Kroos beside him with Germany so with Pjanic he NS a similar type player technical wise beside him. It worked to perfection.

Re: Juventus Match Hub 2016-17
Allegri has gone mad!! And it worked!!
Finally a formation that uses all of our strengths. What a great feeling to see this Juve with so much firepower on the pitch at once!! The 3-5-2 is officially dead!!
With a 4-2-3-1 that can be switched to a 4-3-3 or 4-3-1-2 we can now use players like Cuadrado and Pjaca in their preferred roles. And Orsolini and maybe Berardi can come and play WITH Dybala.
Pjanic looked really good ina double pivot with Khedira. He won't get the goals and assists from that spot but at 96% passing accuracy we have other players to make up the difference.
Obviously this is a work in progress and I am sure Allegri won't keep this permanently for now as it uses up pretty much all our offensive players with no one other than Pjaca on the bench. But I think what it does say is that Allegri is ditching the 3-5-2 for good at some point and we are gonna go with a permanent back 4.
Imagine if Sandro was in the lineup? Would have been even more offensive but Asamoah at the back provided good cover. So with Sandro in the lineup you might have to go with 4-3-1-2.
Anyways this is good news for Juve. And I look forward to more games like this moving forward. This now shows that Dybala and Berardi can play together. Maybe there is hope Dybala sticks around for awhile. We will see.

Re: Juventus Match Hub 2016-17
Dybala can play with anyone, he is too talented and versatile.
That was a good game to watch! specially how we allowed pretty much nothing to Lazio.
The thing is that when Marchisio comes back Allegri probably won't want to leave any of the mid 3 out so we'll probably go back to the 4-3-1-2
That looks like the right balance for the squad this season. With some Cuadrado in there and some 3-5-2 as needed.

Re: Juventus Match Hub 2016-17
Not this season. We are already at the end of January and he is just coming back from an injury. Unless we are hit by big injuries to the forwards then Pjaca won't be in the first 11 consistently this season. He may be starter in the CI and in some other games but he won't be a starter in general until at least next season.
We are getting to the point where we need to win every game, Roma is only 1 point behind and the CL knockouts are coming. Pjaca's time to become a starter will come when there is less pressure to win. Its a shame he got injured at the beginning of the season.

^Not that I'm hating on Pjaca, he looks good, really exciting player to have and I wanna see more. Just that there are players who deserve to start over him right now and bring more more guarantees in tough moments.

Re: Juventus Match Hub 2016-17
Andrew: Licht over Alves imo, for the rest i agree. Worth giving it a try.
Is Pjaca still recovering ? Because if not, Allegri is wasting the talent. Yesterday he replace Higuain just before extra time. Playing 6 minutes is not a big opportunity to prove yourself... still managed to create 2 scoring chances
Just give the guy a couple of starts in a row please, maybe we could find in him a player worth converting our 3-5-2 to a 4-3-3. He only lacks finishing and for the rest: dribbling, awareness, strength is perfetto

Juventus Coach Massimiliano Allegri admits “it’s difficult” for Marko Pjaca to start tomorrow, and Claudio Marchisio is out.
“As for Pjaca, it’s difficult for him to play from the start. He’s a lad - a player - who is destined for greatness, because he’s always made important chances when he’s appeared.

Re: Juventus Match Hub 2016-17
the rest of his pre match talk
“We’ll change some players, because we played a very tense and physical game on Sunday,” Allegri confirmed in his pre-match Press conference.
“Tomorrow night will be a final, and then we have a game with Sassuolo on Sunday. Everyone else is fine, so there will definitely be changes.
“Marchisio is unlikely to be available for the game because he didn’t train with the team as of yesterday, he did separate work.
“It’s normal though, since he came back he’s been getting better but it was expected the there would be a period where he’d have a bit more difficulty, not so much with his knee but with his muscles.
“He worked well yesterday, not with the team. We’ll see today, but it’s unlikely that he’ll be available for the game.
