Football is not just about it's technical aspect mate. Character is as much as important, if not more, and last night it was evident that we lack players with the character of those two I mentioned.

Selling Vidal is our biggest mistake. We have to go back to 442 or some 4-x-x formation. Chiellini is slowly declining, Barzagli is getting old. According to reports from our HQ Allegri is considering 4-3-1-2 and 4-2-3-1 as our formation against Cagliari and our main formation, that's why he has been runing that Dybala experiment with him as TQ kind of role.

We need to play attacking football it suits us more tbh.

Pjaca - Higuain - Cuadrado

Lemina - Pjanic - Khedira

Alex Sandro - Chiellini - Bonucci - Dani Alves

Buffon

If we really want to make a statement, we should go with something like this.

Dybala definitely needs a rest as he looks exhausted. Also I'm not sure if Alex Sandro will start again after such a strong performance. He gave it all against ni hao fc and he too may need to rest.

P.S That midfield still looks awkward  Can't wait for Claudio to be back.

I kinda feel like we will absolutely smash Cagliari, regardless of the lineup, just because everyone will be angry after the Inter loss.

4-3-1-2 could be a solution to have a improved midfield with all options we got atm.Pjanic as attacking mid supported by 3 midfielders behind him. This way we don't reduce numbers in midfield and play Pjanic a bit more advanced to relieve all the pressure on Dybala.

______________Higuain - Dybala
____________________Pjanic
_______Asamoah - Khedira - Lemina
Alex Sandro - Chiellini - Bonucci - Cuadrado
____________________Buffon

I would also like to see a 4-3-3 but with the current midfield form and players I'm affraid it will fail.
An attack made of Pjaca-Higuain-Dybala could be devastating for other teams but our midfield could be inexistent.Maybe we have to wait for Marchisio and a better form from other midfielders as well.

that is a good form,

is just that pjanic is not aggressive/fast enough to play advanced like that

we need a guy like vidal for that

I know everyone is pissed at Allegri but he, like usual, gave hell of an interview addressing the Cagliari match tomorrow, the Inter game, and the squad and tactics as a whole.

Some parts are on Football-Italia now.

For the match tomorrow

On Khedira:

“Khedira has played seven games in a row, and I don’t think he’s done that for a long time so we’ve already made a step forward there.
[...]Khedira will almost certainly be rested tomorrow[...]"

On a 4-4-2:
"I have four midfielders (Lemina, Pjanic, Asamoah, Hernanes), and from that I’ll choose three."

“That is unless I decide to play [Juan] Cuadrado, Dani Alves or Alex Sandro as an outside midfielder.”

On the defense:
"Bonucci needs a bit of work because he hasn’t worked much after the return on August 2 because of various problems which were thankfully resolved.

“So I’ll have to assess it today, meaning that talking about the formation doesn’t make much sense."

[...]

Rugani will play tomorrow,”

Otherwise he said that we sucked in the Inter game.

That he was right to rest Higuain who is basically getting fit and will be rested at times.

That Marchisio is still on his way back. As is Sturaro but "he is a bit short of top condition".

That Rugani will find plenty of playing time this season and be a Juve staple for 10 years. That he has been learning and growing into the team, but that he still has 3 players in front of him + Benatia.

Also vented his frustration about how Hernanes always gets whistled at home games. And asks fans to treat him with respect as Juve player who contributed last year.

On Pjaca

“One thing is certain, throughout the year the team will have to change system to try and take advantage of the characteristics of the players we have, who will need to grow.

“[Marko] Pjaca, who is a young player with a great future definitely needs more time just like maybe [Paulo] Dybala did last year or [Alvaro] Morata two years ago.

only thing that i fear about is pjanic
so far he did not show too much for a playmaker

you expect these guys to be game winners like pirlo, pogba, nedved , but pjanic?

We don't know yet, but he mentioned the possibility of a "wide midfielder" so it could be. I wanna see Cuadrado.

Oh i've had enough of Asamoah last week... better rest him for a while, it's better for himself and, above all, for the score sheet.

In gigi's line up i'd start Pjaca instead.

In a 4-4-2 Asamoah would be playing out wide as a winger, which is much more suitable to him than as a CM. Pjaca could come in in the 2nd half to add more offence. But yeah I like Pjaca there too, just that knowing Allegri he will not start both Pjaca and Cuadrado together.

Buffon; Chiellini, Rugani, Barzagli; Sandro, Pjanic, Hernanes, Lemina, Dani Alves; Higuain, Dybala

Sometimes I just dont understand alegri
When you play against small opponents what you looking for is more guys like khedira, mandzukic who can go for headers but against strong opponent you need better counter attack options like cuadrado, pjaca, higuain
It kinda makes sense to me that way but alegri somehw chose the opposite which is kinda weird to me

Have to disagree moggi. Against small opponents it makes much more sense to me to go for attacking options as you don't have to defend as much. Hernanes sucks at most things but he can pick out a good pass, which is why he might do fine against Cagliari. Khedira would shine too but he needs a rest. Our 2 attacking wing backs, Dybala-Higuain, Pjanic-Hernanes, Allegri is clearly trying to attack  Cagliari.

I know, we all know about the Italian 'defensive' mentality by now but really looking at our squad, then looking at our standard opposition, there's really no excuse not to go all guns blazing and put 4-5 goals past them. We insist on getting 2 quick goals then shutting up shop and that attitude does not translate well in Europe.

When we reached the final we were absolutely lethal on the counter at times that season. Seasons prior to that and so far seasons after we're back to being pinned back in our own half by inferior squads at times because we're not using players capable of stringing together dangerous counters.

Players like Pjaca, Cuadrado, and 1 less defender would go a long way in to solving that problem.

We need a #10, a fantasista. With Bentancur coming next year we need to focus on a 4-3-1-2 with a pure CAM in the middle. We can then rotate with a 4-3-3 with Cuadrado, Pjaca and Berardi. Maybe Berardi can be a CAM? That would be perfect.

This is the last year I wanna see a 3-5-2 with Hernanes leading the attack. We will never win the CL with this mentality. As Tom said, we need to go in with guns blazing. We need to do what Bayern, Madrid and Barca do which is beat the fodder 5-0, 6-0. That will give us confidence in the CL, not these 2-0 scores after 45 minutes and then playing tag for the 2nd half.

Platini, Zidane, Nedved, Baggio, Del Piero. Remember when we had these types of players? Where are they now?

People will argue that the mentality is necessary, but most traditions flat out suck and need to stay in the past.

It's common sense to look at the top teams and how they play. You don't even sacrifice defence for attack most of the time. Bayern and Barca have been right up there with Juve as the leading clubs for goals conceded in the past 4-5 Years.

Do they do that by grabbing a goal then spending 50 minutes letting Celta Vigo or Hertha Berlin walk all over them pinning them back? No, no they do not.
