Transfer Myths
It's a rather long article but it's well worth the read, especially to us fans who like to comment on transfer rumours and how they will affect the club.
http://thesetpieces.com/features/transfer-window-myth-busting/
The main point about the article is that most of what the media lead us to believe about transfer costs is wrong and that it is not calculated the way we think it is. It is broken down into costs per season (fee + wages) instead of outright fee, therefore player X costs, lets say 10m pounds per season instead of his 25m pound transfer fee, like we're all lead to believe.
Also, NO clubs use fax machines, and it was likely human error which lead to DDG's failed move to Madrid last summer.
Anyway, everyone should have a read of it.

Re: Transfer Myths
I did have a read and quite frankly, I'm glad I read it. Especially the part of net spend. Just knew that was such an irrelevant term but I didn't have the accounting know-how to fully explain it.
Also, knew about the TMS manager after the De Gea debacle.

Re: Transfer Myths
I read that article when it came out - think it was shared on Arseblog then.
I vaguely remember sharing it on the Arsenal section too. I think it is a very good read.
