good leadership skills. in a shootout you need every form of motivation you can get, and it means a lot coming from your skipper. some players need someone to psyche them up and also let them know missing isn't the end of the world

2nd final in a major international tournament for the Kommander. Portugal never made a final in any major cup before Ronaldo started kommanding the team.

People still say he underachieved for the NT.

While other inferior players GOAT against fodder in group stages and gets exposed for the fraud they are in knockout stages, the Kommander kommands Portugal to the final. Portugal never made a final without the Kommander. A review of his kommanding performance.
