Who will wins?
Re: UEFA Champions League Final: Real Madrid vs Atletico Madrid
It's time for Simeone to really shine, he deserves it, no matter how big of a d-head he can be.

Re: UEFA Champions League Final: Real Madrid vs Atletico Madrid
This is going to be a tough game. Whoever scores first will win this game but i think it is going to lack in quality especially since Atleti naturally park the bus and Zidand being equally cautious. If we score first Atleti will be forced to attack with more men which will open up space for counters, if Atleti score first then we are doomed. We dont have forwards who can operate in tight spaces like Barca or Bayern. Atleti are just going to frustrate us and one of our players will snap
Still Atleti have our numbers in h2h over the years eventhough we enjoy a better record in knockout competitions. It is going to be anything but tough. I still remember that home game we lost, the lack of tracking back from our midfielders that game was the catalyst for the inclusion of Casemiro ever since. Atleti will likely find it hard to get past him because of how physical he is
I definitely do not see us repeating what Bayern did. If we win it is going to be very tight. Atleti have been lucky in every stage nearly losing to PSV, then holding on against Barca and Bayern. Maybe this is their year who knows but id like to see us win it which would be the best consolation price for Perez' terrible appointment of Rafa which nearly destroyed our season completely
PS: Arbeloa and Guti vs Pique is going to be fun too if we win it

Madrid will win.
No, seriously, the REAL Madrid will win.
No matter how good Atletico currently are, this is the CL final we are talking about, and Real will be a completely different beast.

Re: UEFA Champions League Final: Real Madrid vs Atletico Madrid
With Zidane's four months in charge, it is apparent he is a coach that adapts his team to fit the style of the opponent. He is more cautious and pragmatic than bold (blind boldness). you dont expect him to go out with the same all out brainless attacking we-are-madrid-and-the-best-team-in-the-world mentality madrid often show when he is aware of the strengths and weaknesses of the team and knows his team is not even the best.
Anyone expecting to see a Barca-atletico/Bayern-atletico kind of game will be disappointed. What you will see as a cautious madrid, similar to the one that played against city, the one that isnt shy to concede possession and play a low defense-line if necessary, one that is not sympathetic about hoofing the ball if the need calls.
Madrid is going to be very tactical and disciplined, the full backs are going to stay stuck to their positions, The midfielders will remain compact, chances will be very few or inexistent and a goal will come for either team somewhere between a setpiece and a lucky goal.
I read an article that said Bayern played arguably the best football in a semi-final, But history does not care about how the matches are won, it only cares about the winners.
on that note, whichever team wins will not win by employing ball hogging, supposed-to-be champagne football

Re: UEFA Champions League Final: Real Madrid vs Atletico Madrid
Atletico obviously will win lol.
Last time their striker was half fit and a scrub, this time they have Griezmann.
Last time Felipe Luis went off injured and a CB in Alderwiereld had to play left back leading their defence to fall to pieces. Seriously watch the last 20 mins of normal time, they were getting nothing until the injury happened and suddenly they get through at will it wasn't a coincidence and the only reason they lost.
Not to mention Real are not very good anyway.

Also to mention Atletico hasn't lost to them since.
Atletico are 5-3-0 since that final with a score line of 15-6 in there favor.
I still think Real win though, hard to see them losing a final like this

Re: UEFA Champions League Final: Real Madrid vs Atletico Madrid
Atleti haven't beaten RM in the CL these last 2-3 years and RM generally have better results against them in Cup games.
Interestingly speaking every team that has KO'ed Pep team have won the CL, Inter 2010, Chelsea 2012, RM 2014 and Barca 2015, ??? 2016, will have to see.
Personally think RM will get it as the guy above said, they can play similar to Atleti defend, hit on counters and get jammy goals. They won't go full retard on attack.

I was counting La Liga/Copa only. Even in the CL they struggled and Atletico weren't even in good form. Didn't it end 1-0 over the 2 legs?

In the Cup games Atleti has for the most part topped them since Mourinho lost to them in the final

Re: UEFA Champions League Final: Real Madrid vs Atletico Madrid
Atleti have beat us once in a cup game since the Mourinho final in copa. This is out of 7 games we have played them. The record in cups is W4D2L1 in our favour depending on where you put the CL final.
Both have new players since last season. We are more solid defensively under Zidane. Like shade said whoever wins will win ugly. There wont be many chances especially in the first half

We haven't lost in cup to Atleti since Mourinho... lost in La Liga which was Carlo's issue. I think we lost once to Atleti in cup since Mou left and we've played several times. And I think we won the tie in the one cup loss.

Re: UEFA Champions League Final: Real Madrid vs Atletico Madrid
Aghh, my mistake. For some reason I remember you guys losing to them with Torres netting in one of the legs, and then the next round we took out Atleti (wasn't this last season?), and ya'll also faced each other some other time in the Copa since Mourniho's final loss but I think ya'll won that one if I'm not mistaken? I need to go look up Wikipedia lol

Yup you are correct in the Copa last season Atleti beat us 2-0 at home and drew 2-2 away. The season before that it was we who beat them 3-0 at home and 2-0 away

Re: UEFA Champions League Final: Real Madrid vs Atletico Madrid
Atletico can't win this. Not trying to "anti-jinx" but it's logical. In a 2-legged tie they can scrap a 1-0 at home and then play for a draw or narrow loss away from home to get through on away goal rules but in a one-off they have little chance. Why? Because their average attack can maybe get 1 lucky punch but rarely do they score more against big teams. So either they somehow keep a clean sheet or they take it to penalties with a 1-1.
This will be like Valencia reaching 2 CL finals in a row and losing both in the early 00s.

Atleti can score from set pieces too and we arent good at defending those. The moment Atleti score one lucky/jammy/pos goal you can bet any money that they will win it. Attacking-wise we arent as good as we were 2 seasons ago due to the conservative nature of our midfielders compared to then.

Re: UEFA Champions League Final: Real Madrid vs Atletico Madrid
yea I think Atletico CAN pull it off, they have all the tools and the grit, but I just can't see them beating Real in this final.
I think real have the fire power and if they show up motivated (which they will), it might turn into a 90 min bus with shots getting blasted at it and eventually something will go in, and Atletico won't have the ability to come back and score one themselves.
So pretty much I see a more heated version of the 2nd leg of Madrid/City. City did all they could do to keep Madrid out but couldn't really ever put themselves in a position to trouble Real nor keep them pushed back away from there goal.

if atleti comes out attacking and gets a early goal, then its up in the air but if they defend majority of the game in their own half, then a 3-1 win for madrid should be on the cards.
