That's incorrect, H; Modric was subbed off in the 80th min, I wouldn't call that "early". Same for Kroos (73) , who by the way, has been doing lots and lots of pressing lately. They both need a breather. We can't afford to lose them now.

Many "ifs" would have to come into perfect alignment for us to win the league - and while it's still mathematically winnable, I wouldn't sabotage our CL campaign for it. We should play the back-ups, and if something goes wrong, we bring in the starters. We have to go to Manchester fresh, injury-free and well-rested.

Modric, Kroos, Bale and Marcelo should be rested. That way them and Ronaldo, Case and Carvajal would all be in tip-top condition for midweek. It would be monumentally stupid to lose one of them to injury and lose the City game because of that.

Bale is definitely going to play... no doubt. There's no way Zidane is going to favor CL when we're only 1 pt behind in La Liga. Both are equally important as they should be.

@DoC, Modric did not play against Getafe, was subbed out against Villarreal. He has hardly been overworked in the last couple of days. No reason why he cant start and come off in the second half. Marcelo on the other hand could have done with a breather but what can you do when you have no back up for him

If not, he does at RB, so Nacho and Danilo could be the FBs. There's also Arbeloa, who may generally be a liability, but not so much that Rayo are a problem.
