Real Madrid x Rayo Vallecano
Just a small look on Rayo Vallecano. They currently sit 11th on the table with 5 points [tied with Osasuna at 12th]. They have won one game, drawn two games and lost one. I'm personally expecting them to put up a fight especially looking at our recent results.
Now onto our team, the squad has been announced. The following has been called:
Goalkeepers- Casillas, Adan, Tomas Mejias
Defenders- Ramos, Albiol, Varane, Marcelo, Arbeloa
Midfielders- Ozil, Xabi Alonso, Kaka, Lass, Khedira, Callejon, Di Maria, Granero
Forwards- Cristiano Ronaldo, Benzema, Higuain
As you can see carvalho is out because of the knock he received on his head. This means we'll FINALLY see the back-line without him
I would personally like to see this line-up:
Casillas
Arbeloa - Varane - Ramos- Marcelo
Granero- Khedira -Alonso
Ozil - Ronaldo - Benzema
Arbeloa - Varane - Ramos- Marcelo
Granero- Khedira -Alonso
Ozil - Ronaldo - Benzema
Knowing mou he'll just start Di Maria. Even though Khedira is back I still think we need a third central midfielder in the form of either Granero or Kaka. Even though I've included Ramos in the line-up Albiol should maybe get the nod as he hasn't played for us yet [Maybe he'll start ahead of Varane].
The key to this game will be to apply the high pressure game we have used against barca for at least the first 20 minutes [like we did against zaragoza] and manage to score within these minutes. It will lift our confidence immediately and will appease many. Let's just hope we'll get the players we want to see this time around in the middle.
The game starts 20:00 local time, I'll try to post the streaming links before the game.
Good Luck!
EDIT- Streaming:
freddy49's veetle links:
Veetle HD [spanish]
Veetle HQ [spanish]
More will be added as the game starting whistle nears, OP updates too.

Re: Real Madrid x Rayo Vallecano
Mourinho's pregame conference [From Real Madrid's website]:
"I only have words of admiration and respect for Rayo Vallecano. They are good people with good character who are passionate about football. We all know the adversity they've faced and they obtained positive results despite it."
"Some people are interested in perpetuating this so-called crisis and others face reality, which is we didn't play well last week. You can talk about three games and three weeks of poor performances, or about three games and one week of bad performances. I feel those who relish our bad results will be disappointed tomorrow. Madridismo expects us to be ambitious, responsible and to have character to face a situation that is far from being dramatic. We are leaders in the Champions League and we are just one point behind the leaders in La Liga. Madridismo expects us to be calm, strong and optimistic."
"I feel great and so does the President. Conformist people experience negative results well, but those who aren't and don't fear nagative results bring out the best in themselves when these happen. Florentino Perez is a winner and he isn't scared by times like these. I'm the same. I'm optimistic and positive."
"I still think the same about the league. I never said it was a two team championship. Every match is difficult. I said this a couple of weeks ago. With all due respect, I don't think Betis will win the title, but we will face a recently promoted side tomorrow and I'm sure the match will be difficult."
"Pepe and Coentrao aren't ready to play and I'm sure they won't be in optimum form for Tuesday's match. Pepe and Carvalho won't play, so there aren't that many options left for you to guess the starting lineup right. I also like Ramos as a centre back."
"Ozil won't mind me saying he wasn't in top form in Santander and Zagreb. I spoke to him about it. It's a reality and he will improve unless a survey says he doesn't have sufficient quality to play for Real Madrid. It isn't right to judge quality people who have a solid career and prestige for an isolated moment."

Re: Real Madrid x Rayo Vallecano
Personally, all I hope for is that our players act like angels in this game.
Making enemies with everyone in the league is not helping our cause at all. If we pretend to act nice to the other teams, they might bend over more against us in the future.
I am such an honourable, righteous human being, right?

Re: Real Madrid x Rayo Vallecano
Looking forward to what a Carvalho-less back four can do! I also agree that we need to see how Granero operates in a 4-3-3, it could be just the right kind of formation to get the best out of him.
@H.A. - I can't help but think every time I see your sig that they're all watching a video of THAT Torres' miss.

Re: Real Madrid x Rayo Vallecano
That's called never giving up. Very good attitude, while working behind the curtains to close out the gaps and elimintate the errors we made last few games. Barca playing not up to their standards gives additional credibility to the speech and some room for forgiveness.
I hope by "Ozil not playing well" he means kaka will participate. I still look forward to him integrating our second winning card and best DM in a long long time, Lass. I also hope both of them will live up to all expectations because it wont be easy to reach out to their optimum level from 45 to 60 mins of one match.
My suggestion is if we win and play good this game, we play with the same formation and starting line up the next game and we make it a norm for the time being.

It isn't far fetched actually. That game ended like what 10 minutes before our game? Never came to my mind until now

Re: Real Madrid x Rayo Vallecano
It really baffles the mind how did Torres really miss. The man can shoot with either foot with great accuracy and still miss. Sigh.
Anyway, this is gonna be a really tough match, like really really tough. I doubt Rayo would be paying for the broken plates, maybe another team but definitely not Rayo...
I suspect a rather hard fought 2-0 win against Madrid's more humble "neighbours".

In that case Higgy really has no right to facepalm like that! He has had more than his fair share of 1 on 1 howlers. Great player Higgy, but also prone to those moments of madness in front of goal.. though maybe not one ever as bad as the Torres miss

Good words from Mou. I think Ozil and Alonso should be rested, otherwise I agree with the lineup previously posted.

That would be a huge mistake.
I also think this liga match is almost more important than the CL one, as we will make it out of our pool regardless.

Re: Real Madrid x Rayo Vallecano
Kaka has looked pretty good the last two outings. I say give him a shot and keep Ozil ready if we need him.

Re: Real Madrid x Rayo Vallecano
i think kaka would make equaly good effort as current ozil lol.
as for alonso, he has played every game and his work rate is enourmos every game thus getting tired and loosing form. but who do we have to play in his place, granero lol.

I wanted to propose that Kaka not be bogged down in the midfield, I think this is where he is suffering. Face to face with any team's DM, he is getting out muscled too easily.
If we ever start playing this proposed 4-3-3, I want to see Kaka utilised in the front 3, maybe on the right hand side of it? why not? with Khedira and Ramos on the right hand side, he would hardly need to provide any defensive cover either. I think the worst thing to do is say that Kaka and Ozil are interchangeable. Kaka for me plays best as a creative-minded SS rather than an AM. If he plays AM, especially centrally, the midfield just swallows him up. some freedom on the right touchline might just be what he needs.
