Did CR exceed expectations ?

To be fair, Quaresma was the one labelled the next Figo and was rated just a bit higher than Ronaldo but yeah, the latter was rated quite nicely. Also, he also exceeded my expectations big time. I really did not think he would have been this sort of footballer where he makes scoring 50+ goals a season a norm. Not with the talents he showed in his early years.

Has Ronaldo significantly improved the teams he's been on and was his absence significantly felt? Not at Man U. And Madrid's team performance hasn't improved with Ronaldo coming on either.

As you all know, I''m not a fan. He didn't have a positive impact on his teammates at all. It's always been about him and him only.

Prior to him coming we struggled to make it past the R16 for 6 years. Before he left United they had been a top 2 team. They won 2 leagues after he had left but that doesn't change the fact that they weren't the European force they used to be with him. We have constantly been in the SFs of the CL for 6 six straight season because of him. wtf ???

we struggled exactly the same way with him.  Only thing that made us improve was the arrival of Mourinho later on...

We were an empty net missed goal by Higuain away from qualifying in 09-10. That year we had 96 points in the league iirc

We were La Liga champs in 2007-2008...  points mean very little.  So we became better against the rest of La Liga other than Barca in 2009-2010?  Was that the goal??

We bought Kaka, Benzema and Ronaldo yet we lost to a Lyon team that sold Benzema, Juninho, etc.  

No progress.  None.  Mourinho changed us.  Nobody else.... and especially not Ronaldo who was about the most selfish player that I had ever seen in his first year, leading to the feud with Higuain if you recall where they wouldn't pass each other the ball.

You have been consistently in the SFs of the CL because you keep drawing APOEL, Spurs, Galatasaray, Wolfsburg, Schalke etc. until the semis, with the exception of Atletico last season.

They only beat BM and Atelti on route to La Decima with Kommander doing very little Otherwise he got them through APOEL, Galatasaray, Wolfsburg, Spurs, etc.

Please we lost a significant piece when we lost Ronaldo, he was a game breaker for us when he left and we still lack that type of player to this day (Martial and Rashford showing positive signs tho). The closest thing we have had to a game breaker since he left was RVP's first season, man won us the title on his own almost. Yes we went to 2 CL finals after Ronaldo left, but I think we would of won at least one of them had he stayed.

Under SAF, Man U made the finals of CL and Rooney flourished once Ronaldo left.  I didn't see any drop off.  It's not like they replaced Ronaldo with another WC player either until Van Persie was bought.  

Scholes and Giggs getting old had much bigger impacts imo.

as a rm fan cr does a grand total of bleep all most seasons, he is irrelevant outside of scoring, that why he prioritize golden boots over the team winning a trophy and he never gets called out, cause he has millions of fanboys pointing fingers at every other player.

there nobody here who watches real madrid regularly can say the team hasn't had opportunities to win important games but chances goes to cr, cause he is diva that has to carry the team in his head and to the silly media, when he flops "not his fault he scored 50 ffs" .

he started out as diva and is gonna go out as mega diva good for him, he exceeded expectations to his fanboys of course.

He exceeded my expectations of how overrated he can be.

He exceeded my of how such a bad player can get so much praise.

He exceeded my expectations of how a player that can score a lot of goals yet still be so terrible.

He exceeded my expectations of how a player that scores so many goals for the richest club and most expensive team in the world can win so few trophies.

He exceeded my expectations on how a player with who can have such a big gap in quality to another player, an actual great player, and be compared to that actual great player so regularly.

The problem is people who love silky players underrate Ronaldo. People who love stats, goals and machismo overrate Ronaldo.

Though really, 'overrating' is loosely used. Ronaldo is one of the best players of all time, and the way he gets his goals and his consistency is really underrated or misunderstood. It takes an incredible amount of talent to do what he has done in his career.

Oh and props to rafa for killing pass to cr for 90 mins that his fanboys loved, out of the great mou and carlo, it would be rafa to say hey passing to one player is predictable(stupid), if that player flops so does the team and he gave the cowardly benzema license to shoot and the donkey bale license to express himself without feeling burdened to pass to cr.

this season has been more hit and miss for him without the constant service and players sacrificing their own games to give the illusion of cr has to carry madrid, like I have been saying for years cr was forcing the tactics in his favor, cause goal scoring is the only thing that keeps him relevant .

Thankfully we also have those that their amazing link-up play keeps them relevant
