Who do you want as our next manager?
Re: Next Manager thread
• Tottenham
• Shakhtar
• Schalke
• Marseille
• APOEL
• Benfica x2
• Malaga
• Galatasaray
• Monaco
• Porto
• Wolfsburg
• Leicester City
All have made it to the CL quarterfinals more recently than us. What an utter fraud Wenger is. But apparently we can't find someone who can out perform Harry Redknap and Craig Shakespeare

If you want to read something into that: Wenger hasn't changed his core coaching staff since arriving at Arsenal, so it's unlikely he's decided now is the time for shake up. Primorac is one of Wenger's closest friends/confident. Maybe it suggests a decision has been made.
But we'll see, obviously.

Hapless_Hans wrote:It's funny because it actually feels like the Allegri rumour seems to have something to it.
It's basically so bizarre and out of the blue (why would Allegri leave Juve to come to Arsenal) that it might just be the simple fact that, yes, Allegri could be about to leave Juve, and yes, Arsenal would be the job he could very well see himself doing.
If you think about it, Arsenal is an amazing job opportunity for a coach.
Rich as *bleep*, huge brand name and an attractive destination for players (many player who are now 25 used to root for Arsenal as 10 year olds and stuff), owners that are not obnoxious, not too much pressure to win anything, yet a lot of rewards to gain in reputation by actually winning something.
I mean, give Arsenal fans a CL quarter final and they will love you already.
Attractive city, attractive league, club with a great reputation, practically unlimited means and a good team already.
Its not easy to coach Juve long term. The media in Italy are dicks about everything Juve-related.
Allegri arrived under huge criticism from the fans, then won them over. Then the beginning of his second season we were crap (injuries and crazy summer transfers) so he was under fire even though it wasn't his fault. Then he swept the league and smashed everyone for a year, and his Juve was called out for playing "bad" and that winning wasn't enough. Then he has us playing well, but now gets attacked about ref treatment and winning by penalties even though we've only had 3 all season.
Its a lot of pressure and constant, unwarranted, criticism every week. He could get sick of it and want to leave. If he does, Arsenal is a prime destination.
That's why I would still be happy with him even if he chose to leave, I understand and wish him the best. If he stays, even better.

on the stories surrounding Boro Primorac…
That’s a complete invention. It’s good today. You say anything and everybody takes it without checking any information. Everybody just takes and takes it and makes a subject. It’s not serious. Fake news!

Re: Next Manager thread
Bild, as opposed to SportBild, are usually good with their exclusives, right?
I won't get too excited about this, because it's similar to stories about us sounding out Hassenhuttl. And if we're sounding out new managers, I don't see why we would opt for Tuchel over Allegri.
But hey, can't complain about these names. Tuchel isn't the finished article yet and his BVB team have flaws, but it'd be an exciting project.
Wenger has to go first, though. Kind of a big hurdle.

Re: Next Manager thread
Here's what he said:
http://news.arseblog.com/2017/03/former-gunner-hints-at-coaching-shake-up-as-reason-for-wenger-delay/
That sounds more like he wants Vieira to come back, not that he thinks he is or has inside info.
Also, given that Man City gave Vieira his start in coaching and helped him get the manager's job at NYCFC, I'm not convinced he'd even want to come back to Arsenal.
He was asked for his reading of the situation, and said, “To be fair, I don’t why – if Arsene is clear in his own mind – why he doesn’t let everyone know as soon as possible as it takes away the uncertainty and instability.
“I actually think the longer it goes on – and I could be wrong – the more likely he is to sign a new contract.
“It just makes me wonder if there’s another announcement they’re going to make in conjunction with him saying that he’s going to say.
“Whether it’s a change in the coaching staff, whether they say they’re going to release a lot of funds for him to spend next year, because they know it’s going to be a split amongst Arsenal fans.
“It just makes me think they might be making another announcement along with it.”
Asked if that was, perhaps, the appointment of a Director of Football, Groves continued, “A change to the coaching staff, because it needs to be a bit more hands on.
“I wouldn’t want to put a name to it, but if it’s a 6’4 dominant central midfield player who used to play for us and lead us by example. Who has been coaching over in American and has decided he wants to come back … that sort of person.
“Not mentioning any names though!”

Re: Next Manager thread
So, I'm really confused here. On one hand there's this delirious sensation about Wenger staying/signing a new deal; and on the other hand, people are debating the relative edge of Allegri, Simone, Tuchel etc. etc.

Bit misleading headline from the gentlemen at Sky Sports as the guy does not say that Rodgers *is* a contender to replace Wenger, but *should be* according to the guys personal opinion.

That's why he's not a good manager. He's a very talented coach but he's too much of an idiot to be taken seriously by the players.
That famous video where he tries to educate Sterling morally about some BS when Sterling had actually said something different
Players are looking at him like "oh my god, the guy is a complete clown"

Re: Next Manager thread
Lol let's not slate our future manager based on cringeworthy crap he did in his first season at a big club.
But for real, corniness is a genuine concern. If players don't respect you then it doesn't matter how good of a coach you are.
