Who do you want as our next manager?
Re: Next Manager thread
Please not Enrique. What the *bleep* do the board see in him?
Terrible choice in every regard.

Re: Next Manager thread
There are only 2 proven coaches I can somewhat think about Allegri or Simeone. Then there is van Gaal and Ancelotti, but I don't know how ideal either would be at this moment and time.
Allegri has impressed me a lot in his time at Juve, sure he may not play flamboyant football, but I feel he could get the right results and lead Arsenal in the right direction.
Simeone, similar to Allegri all tho not sure how same rate his team football style, but he does get results.
Ancelotti, he's nearing the end of his managerial career, is stubborn and personal don't feel he'd be the right man to lead Aresnal, as you are a rebuilding phase and his lax attitude isn't something that's needed at the moment.
van Gaal, wouldn't be too bad of a choice, he's as hard as they come something Arsenal players will need, good at player development also, but like Ancelotti he's past his best too.
Enrique not a good fit at all like Zidane, he's good at motivating and working with a world class team, which Arsenal isn't, he really has shown much tactical side of himself, maybe he may prove me wrong if he does land this job, but if your going to take a gamble there are better options.
Inexpereince choices:
Nagelsmann, heard a lot about him can't really say for myself, but he's probably worth the gamble at the end.
Tedesco, same as above, but he does seem to have a good record at Schalke.
Marcelino, He's Valencia coach right now, but I've really admired his work at Villarreal and this season at Valencia.
Best choices:
Tuchel, not much to say one of the really promising young coaches, but it seems he's destined for PSG.
Sarri, hasn't really won anything, maybe may win Serie A, which will be massive, but he'll be turning 60 soon, so don't think he falls under the category as it seems Aresnal board is looking for someone younger.
Jardim, along with Sarri and Tuchel I think one of the best choices for Aresnal, his work at Monaco particularly last season was amazing.

According to Sky Sports, Ivan Gazidis wants Mikel Arteta to replace Wenger. Raul Sanllehi wants Luis Enrique & Sven Mislintat favours Julian Nagelsmann or Domenico Tedesco. Rafa Benitez & Brendan Rodgers are not thought to be strong candidates. #Arsenal pic.twitter.com/ByTx33HNZr

I think Marcelino is a great option, Arsenal should consider him.
Arteta is not a bad gamble either and obviously has a connection to the club and the players. I think he's worth the risk.

Jeremy Wilson wrote:Arsenal have begun sounding out some of Wenger’s potential replacements, with former Barcelona manager Luis Enrique emerging as a strong candidate and understood to be keen, but chief executive Ivan Gazidis is committed to a thorough process. Max Allegri, Mikel Arteta, Leonardo Jardim, Julian Nagelsmann and Joachim Löw are among the other leading options.
As well as a manager who will continue to play attacking football and give young players their chance, Arsenal also want high standards of discipline. One criticism of Wenger has been that he has been too easy-going with his squad, although a strength also in his style is how he allows young players to grow and make mistakes.

That's more like it.

I'd be very surprised if things got worse than they currently are.
Any half-competent manager should be able to get top six with this squad.

Why the hell is Arteta considered as an option? He has never managed another club.
You would think a club as big as Arsenal can get someone who has at least 1 year of experience at this job.

Even if that were to be the case , they might possibly reach a CL final or even win a league title under a new coach in between the dry barren years than consistently finishing 4th and getting smashed by elite clubs in the round of 16.
That would be some sort of progress as far as I'm concerned. Look no further than Pool.

I understand that. Just saying, keep your expectations in check.

6th, maybe. Anything above is not automatic at all.
Especially not with these candidates like Löw, Ancelotti, Rodgers.

Re: Next Manager thread
Wouldn't be mad at one of the older more seasoned coaches with a proven track record of winning titles coming in for a quick stint (not Rodgers) to sort things out in the short term. Arteta rumors scare me a little because he doesn't have a managerial record and throwing him into our situation would be cruel for him. Maybe keep him in mind down the road if he gets a manager gig somewhere else and proves something.
The young German managers (Tedesco and Nagelsmann) present an interesting proposition. Like what they've shown during their tenures, but it would be a step up for them

Re: Next Manager thread
Young Coach who would develop his own style of football, play good attacking but controlled football, being flexible tactically, give youth chance and also importantly someone who can get on well with other staff at the club since this role now gonna be different to how Wenger almost worked on his own
i would like to think those two would fit the bill as i said maybe seeing Nagelsmann as what Arteta can be but for now a step ahead
so either would do for me
