You had guys like prime Batista, Cena, Hardy, Edge, Taker, HHH, Angle, HBK, Mysterio, Jericho, Punk, JR at commentary, JBL, Booker T, prime Orton and a much better midcard compared to today. RAW was also 2 hours and more edgier. It also had that classic WWE feel to it as well that seems to have gone with the new generation of superstars.
That's fair enough tbh, although Angle left in 06 and Punk wasn't relevant till 2011 tbh. I was more talking about 2010-2015 though and most of that was crap.
Also while the talent was there in 06-10 i'd argue that a lot of it was shit, as they constantly put Cena and Orton together and ignored everything else
Remind you of anything lol.

Because they didn't build any stars during that time other than Punk and Bryan
They tried pushing Del Rio and Sheamus, but they couldn't get over.

RAW 2008. Look at the pitiful state of the roster Only Cena, Orton, HHH, Michaels, JBL and Umaga were legit.
I would take this era over this. Don't forget the terrible guest hosts arc.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 24
I actually got back into wrestling around 2006 when they had DX on every week doing funny things but I actually don't recall many memorable storylines from around that time despite the talent they had.
Then there was the 2008/09 stuff with the endless guest hosts and after that the world titles were being shared around Miz, Sheamus, Del Rio and Swagger. So that wasn't a great time. The years after that I was mostly watching for Punk and Bryan.
They're back to having decent talent but none of the storylines interest me right now.

2006-2010 - lots of star power, classic WWE vibe, edgier and 2 hour RAW.
2011 - Rock return, Summer of Punk
2012 - Rock/Cena, Lesnar return, Punk heel turn
2013 - Rock/Cena 2, Yes movement
2014 - Yes movement until WM
Nowadays there's pretty much no star power and there's no goat story going on either.

Did I just read that people prefer today's dogshit level of wwe over 06-12 period?

Not all of it but some of i do yes, it's easy to just gloss over some of the crap that there was as M99 and Jay explained.
Seriously does nobody remember Cena vs Orton in every main event for like a year, they literally had nothing else.

Of course RG prefers the era of prime SuperCena (:
07-11 was the definition of dogshit.
Cena and Orton 2000 matches. Cena burying everyone on RAW. HHH burying everyone on Smackdown. Guest hosts. Anonymous GM. Batista on the mic every Smackdown.
Was the stuff of nightmares.

You are argueing my point for me tbh, the fact all they had was Cena/Rock and a part timer in Lesnar says it all.
Punk was great but aside from that there's an awful lot of crap in those 9 years. Also the main event isn't the problem right now tbh, it's the threadbare mid card and how none of them are being used properly.
Also you are just talking about the main event, i'm talking about everything as a whole.

What do they have now though? There's absolutely nothing must watch currently.
Sure everything wasn't amazing during that period, but it was better than what's on now. There's no goat storylines/star power currently, which was present during those 9 years.

I'm personally interested in AJ Styles, Kevin Owens, Ambrose, New Day and the Diva's division. Not great but still more than i would have been interested in a lot of the years.
I have gone through every PPV since 2002 that i missed and there's an awful lot of shite that's worse than what we have now, to the point i can't even watch it really. There's some good storylines and star power sure but as a whole there's more crap than there is good.
Just so you know outside of a few exceptions i think WWE has been crap since 2005, i only really watch it now for the promise of a better future but i think some of the real crap has been forgotten.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 24
As a whole? Well I'd take 02-10 midcard, lower card, cruiserweight division, tag division and jobbers over the current set. Divas were way hotter too during that period, I don't really care about how good they can wrestle. Maria, Candice, Mickie James, Lita, Trish, Torrie Wilson, Kelly Kelly, Melina, Layla, Maryse etc. Good eye candy imo.
For me star power/amazing story trumps everything.

Leaves it open to interpretation. I can see him losing and having his last match at Survivor Series where debuted 25 years back.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 24
WWE died for me when Raw went 3 hours and Del Rio became world champion. Before than, the belt was still considered same level as WWE title, and the brand split was somewhat still happening. After Del Rio, Smackdown and World title got relegated to b-show.
The only reasons to watch in the last few years have been Shield and Lesnar. Summer of Punk was really just two ppvs (MITB and Summerslam). The rest of it was crap.
