Evra is fantastic in terms of positioning. He has never relied on pace. His experience never lets him get embarrassed either even at this age.

who knows whether Robben will even play. One more week until the game, plenty of time to get injured.

From Juve:
Buffon; Evra, Bonucci, Barzagli, Litchsteiner; Pogba, Marchisio, Khedira; Cuadrado, Dybala, Morata/Zaza
Could very well change though

Re: Juventus Vs Bayern München (CL 2015/16)
It will be a knock-out very balanced, definitely interesting for a neutral.
Juve at home is a great force, how many times have they lost in last 50 matches? Perhaps just that against of Udinese. .
Guardiola teams usually don't give their best in CL away matches (even tied in Stuttgart or lost in Oporto ) while at the same they destroy at their stadium.
I'd be satisfied if we tie this tbh.

Re: Juventus Vs Bayern München (CL 2015/16)
Excluding unexpected incidents during the game, I'll be disappointed if we don't win at home. I don't know if we'll win the tie but in Turin we have to. We have 15 in a row and haven't conceded in 8 games. Plus we don't lose in Turin very often.
Bayern is an excellent team but if this isn't the time to be optimistic against them then when is?

Indeed, unless Bayern scores very early on or like you said something unexpected happens, I expect us to at least even them. We definitely respect Bayern but we are not afraid of them, especially in our home. This isn't the Juventus of 2013, we are way more experienced and flexible now.

the only posts being overly optimistic for Bayern were those of S being a lying jinxing little pussy. Not a word of them was meant seriously.

Re: Juventus Vs Bayern München (CL 2015/16)
Evra would have played in place of Alex Sandro anyway even if the Brazilian was not injured.
He gives most defensive solidity and it is the reason why Allegri relies on him particularly.
Besides the Evra of last United period looked like finished in Premier League but he gave his best in CL matches.
Basically in CL the experience is everything.
The only heavy absence for Juve would be Khedira if he doesn ' t get recuperated.

a bit too early to tell.
Obvious absences are Boateng, Badstuber, Martinez.
A couple of people back in training - Benatia, Ribéry.
Of course, Ribéry has played 15 minutes in the last 12 months and Benatia hasn't played a minute since something like November, so it's hard to see them ready for a starting place.
Similarly Tasci, the defender who was brought in as a last straw after Boateng AND Martinez got injured. He has not played a single second for FC Bayern, and he was brought to give relieve in some BL matches.
Can't see him being an option for Juve.
Götze isn't ready to return just yet as far as I know.
I assume the back four will be as it was in previous matches, unless Benatia is thrown in:
Lahm, Kimmich, Alaba, Bernat
Since it's a CL away game, Pep will as usual change his winning formula of fielding 4 strikers with Costa, Lewa, Müller and Robben, in favour of an extra midfielder to slow us down and make us static and vulnerable.
So instead of
Alsonso/Vidal
Robben Müller Thiago Costa
Lewandowski
Robben Müller Thiago Costa
Lewandowski
we'll possibly see
Alonso
Vidal...Thiago
Robben.............Costa
Lewandowski
Vidal...Thiago
Robben.............Costa
Lewandowski
when it's obvious that the Alonso-Vidal combo is actually painfully sluggish.
Maybe instead of Vidal we'll see Lahm in midfield with Rafinha at RB.

That's a top class defense right there tbh.
As long as they don't have to defend any such thing like crosses above a certain height, or engage in any sort of defensive challenges.
To put it in jiber's terms, it is a playmaking defense (:

Have you really played with this defence in Bundesliga matches ?

We have, and successfully
It's not a problem really
Not only now, already last August, Martinez and Benatia were injured, Boateng was suspended and Pep played a backline of
Lahm, Alonso, Alaba, Bernat
against Leverkusen. We won 3:0.Not a problem.
Dante was the only CB fit but Pep didn't play him, instead we sold him to Wolfsburg the next day

Depends how good you are. Are you a top full back or central midfielder? Then yes.

The last bayern games I saw were the 2 againts arsenal and you were amazing with possession and passing. I think with the style of play that bayern have you migh be able to get away with that defence, but if Juve are anywhere near their best I think you will lose this one

Did Bayern really play Alaba as a CB and it has been working...successfully?

Yes, apart from Ingolstadt we haven't met a team of Juve's quality so far this season.
Will be a tough one, and quite possibly the end of the line for us.
