Think Thimmy played it on ps3 and i wanted to get it but you know me
might get it on ps4 before the sequel if i have the time
I wrote a pretty extensive review on Ni No Kuni once From what I recall, it had a very, very, very childish setting and voice acting and that alone didn't appeal to me very much. In fact, it made me feel kind of silly for playing the game in my 20s The art style reminded me of Ghibli movies, which I thought was pretty neat. I can see how some people would worship the Ghibli like art, music and atmosphere of the game.
I really enjoyed playing Ni No Kuni, initially, and spent quite a lot of time in the casino that you can enter pretty late in the game. Overall though, I grew tired of the combat system before I completed it, and the story wasn't all that great, in my opinion. The last 1-2 hours of the game felt like a chore to me, but I don't doubt that some would experience it differently. I also remember that the game had some sort of Pokemon- like system where you could catch monsters and train them as allies. It didn't really impress me that much, though. I bought the game because I'd heard great things about it, but my final impression was that the game was vastly overrated.

think we mentioned how this looked good at E3 RG
but I'm digging that gameplay, Dark Souls fused with Onimusha, another day 1 for me

Firenze wrote:played ni no kuni for 10 minutes on PS3, was actually one of the games I bought the console for (think I deleted it from my trophies) artistically it looks amazing because it's animated by studio ghibli RG
but it's supposed to be very childish, not a fan of turn based combat and it had a pokemon like system apparently (I didn't even make it to the battle system because the intro was really long) I was just burnt out from gaming and didn't feel like a 60 hour RPG
I wasn't burnt out at all when I started playing it. The first few hours of the game looked promising and I thought I was going to enjoy it to the end, despite getting the impression that the game was meant to cater to 4-5 year olds. Once I got to the point where the final boss was just around the corner, I forced myself to play the game just to be done with it, and not leaving it unfinished.

Easy to get around that though, just pre order and then cancel when you get the code lol.

I haven't missed CoD once since I bought this game
I guess I do occasionally miss being able to carry my team in S&D.. which is a friggin' difficult task in Rainbow Six lol. It doesn't help that friendly fire is allowed.

I noticed that some guy on my friends list was playing Doom: Closed Alpha. Has anyone here tried it? I'm not overly excited about a Doom remake/remaster/whatever. I am curious about it, though.

Re: General Games Discussion
This section of the forum's been dead as hell lately Apparently, there's a new tactical FPS coming out soon. I think it's only on PC, though. RB6S has turned me into a fan of this type of game  It looks a bit too slow paced for my liking, but it's great that they're making more tac FPSs.

I'll be honest I have been playing more than I have been talking about games recently lol.
Will probably pick it up in the new year as I play different things instead of the same stuff all the time.

You guys stoked about Battlefront 2? Apparently, they're already working on a sequel to the first game. Sounds like it'll become a new CoD/FIFA- like franchise.

Re: General Games Discussion
Hurray another RNG shooter...
As if Valve turning CS:GO into Counterstrike: The Wild West wasn't bad enough...
I doubt that Battlefront 2 will have any success though because the majority of people are disappointed and the minority are downright outraged.
How are they even going to justify it? Oh look we have 4 new maps, let's release them as a standalone full price game...
I do have to say one thing though; EA's UK support is stellar. Submitted a ticket because my account got hijacked (apparently the October security breach DID compromise accounts, scumbag lying EA) and got called within 5 seconds of me submitting the ticket.

Nevermind, competitive FPS isn't dead yet; Hi-Rez is finally going to curate Tribes: Ascend after 2 years of no support.

Re: General Games Discussion
Majority
I had to break it to you but the Internet is a very small percentage of people who buy games.
If it wasn't then CoD wouldn't sell 20m every year, also 4 maps I must have imagined the 15 maps in the game my mistake.

Re: General Games Discussion
I can see why CoD sells well, it's in fact very well documented in the CoD thread how despite my criticisms of its imbalances and pandering to bad players the game is enjoyable. CoD is cheesy and lowskill but it's fun. Battlefront takes all the cheese and pandering that CoD did and takes them to an extreme.
Mole when you project sales over 13 million copies of a game and there are less than 300,000 over all three platforms in 24h playing a week after release you can safely make the connection between people buying the game but not playing the game. For reference, CS:GO had 500,000k users yesterday.
PC Battlefront is practically dead already; queue times feel like I'm playing a 6 year mp game, not a AAA title which got released less than a month ago and just had a free dlc released.
And please stop deluding yourself, cutting out smaller sections of large maps and calling them separate maps and then using them for game-modes that no one plays is not 15 maps. But then again, what to expect form someone who thinks this Battlefront is anything like Battlefront.
There are 5 maps when you include the DLC and Sorusuub is unplayable because everyone leaves the lobby when it comes around in Walker Assault so that leaves you with 4 maps.

Cutting out smaller sections of the map
I don't recall the Ice Caves map being on the Walker Assault/Supremacy map, but i'm deluded obviously.
There are 15 maps in the game, whether you enjoy them all or not is irrelevant.

Man stfu with your whiny shit. Get back to valve forum or wherever you post your PC BS pre GL and stick with your pc fanboys
If people enjoy cod, BF etc. despite how casual it is then let them. You don't see them dissing your beloved CS:GO or whatever FPS you pc elitist enjoy.
And it's funny how much you criticize Battlefront yet when I saw your stream you were getting absolutely *bleep* destroyed

Re: General Games Discussion
Also when has most players online at a time ever been indicative of sales?
CoD routinely sells 20m copies but it rarely has more than a million on at a time.

Re: General Games Discussion
You may as well try and convince Chad that Benzema is dragging C. Ronaldo Down, Phritz
I'm under the impression that Battlefront sold really well, but many of the consumers were disappointed in what they got. This may not bode well for a planned franchise, but I find it hard to believe that EA/Dice flopped in terms of copies sold.
