Milan seriously needs to hire Donadoni if Mihajlovic is sacked.

McLewis wrote:The very fact that we only started playing well after Totti was brought on is indicative of how dependant we still are on him, even as he nears retirement. While it was refreshing to actually see a pass not go sideways or backwards, but actually split the defense, it also made me rather sad as this, along with the last year of football,  means we're still not ready for post-Totti Roma. The lack of preparation for this reality is honestly very damning. We've had years to prepare for this, but sentiment has got in the way of it, to the detriment of actual rational logic.

So yes, I am glad we won, but let's be honest. It's Frosinone and we struggled against them even before Totti came on. We play that way against Madrid and it's going to be hard to not get embarrassed in both legs.

We need the same defensive grit we showed against Juve along with an ability to split the defense with passing and movement. Not going to happen against a backline like Madrid's, but that's what needs to happen.

TBH ML, thinking in those terms is regressive because Totti is a once in a generation player. They don't come about very often. Guardiolaitis has gripped most European clubs with the possession obssession. It's annoying to watch.

Perhaps Jibes, but I am a Roma fan because I love the club more than any one player. Like all Romanisti, I love Totti, but unlike some, I am also a realist. This is not the Totti of 10 years ago, during Spalletti's first stint and worse yet, there isn't even a vice-Totti on the horizon.

We Romanisti will probably always be a bit regressive as we are romantics more than anything. Romanticsm itself can be a bit regressive as it can obviously halt progress, which is why we go so long without winning stuff. Part of our DNA. It's just frustrating because I am equal parts romantic and pragmatist and that latter half is wondering why we're not better prepared for Totti's retirement. Yes, we'll likely never see the likes of him again, but we didn't even try to prepare properly for life without him. That's why it bothers me.

Inter players are such wusses. Trying time and time again to get a pen, and when they finally get a bogus one, they lose it.

Cowards.

We're in a slump right now it's hard to imagine when we'll pick ourselves up. It doesn't help that Mancini starts with a different eleven every f'cking game either. Stick with Icardi ffs, let him roam around and do nothing in 80+ minutes but eventually he will hit the target. Unlike Jovetic who seems to only know how to showboat and score a beauty every now and then.

Congruts to the diavolo fans around here...you won the battle but we'll hopefully end above you.

Post by Vibe Sun Jan 31, 2016 9:51 pm

The way Mancini managed Icardi, Jovetic and Perisic is criminal, beyond any logic. We also don't have a single player who can pass the ball in midfield. Perisic is a very stupid player and can be utilized only in a very particular way, which I expected Mancini to know since he forced his transfer. Brozovic is a squad player at best, and he's left with the duty to organize our play despite not being able to pass the ball.

Most painful for me is him letting Ljajic take all the set pieces. He took about 50 so far and not a single one was threatening. I can't even remember a remotely good one.

I leave all my hope for this team on the shoulders of that postman carrying Mou's 6 page letter to United not to deliver it so Mou can come back.

What is this 'Niang scoring goals'? Is it due to the fact that he had some memorable misses at age 19? (Barca, Udinese, etc) Laughing

He's scored 6 last season at Genoa and assited 2 (loan for half a season)

This season he comes back fully fit in early November after a 3 month layoff and has 6 goals and 3 assists for 12 starts

What a derby ffs Proud

Fantastic performance from Milan , if only we played anything like that in 2/3 of our games like we ought to .

Anyway , hopefully we turned a page here and we show more in the weeks to come. As for Inter , they were visibly tilted after their lost penalty and they weren't on par except maybe the first minutes of the game.. after that it was all us , we actually dominated a big game , almost forgot how it felt.

This being against Inter was too good , but i am not forgetting how Inter has managed better this season , so while i was and still am ecstatic about it , for it to actually mean something more , Milan needs to go on like this . Hopefully this win inspires us to do just that and maybe look forward with more confidence and hunger .

Give him some slack, he saw that one Barca game 2 years ago so he must know what he's talking about.
