What will Pep do next?
What's next for Pep Guardiola?
His contract at Bayern runs until summer 2016, and decision time is nearing for Pep's future.
Bayern's officials, most of all Rummenigge, have made no secret of their wish to extend with him, and have continually made multiple public statements to that regard, but Pep has so far not committed to anything and refused to give any indication.
Press question about this are being met with increasing indignation by the coach.
Talks about his future with Bayern were supposed to happen in summer, then around now, the latest deadline seems to be the end of the year.
It's a kind of unfamiliar situation for the club, to be at the receiving end of such uncertainty about the tenure of a coach with whom they want to continue.
At the same time, rumours about Pep have accompanied his time at Bayern from pretty much day one, with Man City repeatedly being named as his next destination.
'Reporters' ranging from Didi Hamann, Tancredi Palmeri to Di Marzio have suggested it was pretty much agreed Pep will join City, often supported with mentions of the supposed close ties to City's former Barca sport directors.
Some of these reports even saw Pep going to City in summer of 2014, then summer of 2015, cutting short his time at Bayern.
That didn't happen, yet he is on his last year of contract now with the club insisting on a resolution in the near future.
Recently a number of Bayern players have entered the arena again.
Among others, Robben this weekend said he hopes Pep "stays with the club for a very long time", while captain Philipp Lahm told the press this week that he notified Pep in a private meeting of the team's wishes:
"I can only speak for the team, but I told him the team's wish: For him to stay. I'm not sure why he is hesitating, but the opinion of the team is clear: we like the collaboration very much and get along with him very, very well."
Rummenigge repeated his claim that he's "optimistic" Pep would extend, though he used the same words about signing Martin Ödegaard lol.
Would be pretty harsh to not extend when everyone is begging, even Lahm going on public record about it now
Would be pretty naive too, to think he'll get better conditions for his tactical YOLO stuff anywhere else
But then who knows what he wants to do, whether he has alredy decided or not.
The poll is about what you think Pep will do.
Feel free to add in posts what you whink he should do, if that differs.

Re: What's next for Pep Guardiola?
Didn't he recently say he wouldn't mind working in London? That would hint towards Chelsea.

Re: What's next for Pep Guardiola?
I think that he will extend another season at Bayern, although it all depends on this season. I could see him leaving if he wins the CL, otherwise I can see him wanting another shot. However, as the board seems to want an answer before christmas, I'm more doubtful...

Re: What's next for Pep Guardiola?
Of course, best for all involved would be that he extends at Bayern till 2018/19. I am sure many would love him at Arsenal after Wenger, though I am not for it.
That said, Pep and Roman Abramovic could be very, very entertaining - more so in a league where YOLO will get punished in a fairly regular basis.

Re: What's next for Pep Guardiola?
Dont think he will take over at Chelsea. If he is to go someday its either one of the Manchester clubs (city has that Txiki guy which will give them the obvious advantage). Even Arsenal is a decent shout. Otherwise its bayern for quite a while.

Always thought he would end up at Arsenal or Man Yoo one day.
But it doesn't seem like either Van Gaal and Wenger are leaving that soon tbh.

Will wait until rumors of next summer's transfers are thickening, and then go to the club with the most ridiculously stacked squad and biggest war chest; if two clubs tie, he'll go to the one with more midgets.

Re: What's next for Pep Guardiola?
I'd be shocked if he doesn't leave this summer for the EPL, pretty sure that's a guarantee at this point. As for where he'll go, my money is still on Man City. Just because of all the teams in the EPL, I think that's the squad he'd have to overhaul the least.
Chelsea especially, I can't think of one player Pep wouldn't get rid of if he had the choice.

what are you implying?
That Pep is the most inflexible manager in the world, or Chelsea players are crap and technically poor?

Re: What's next for Pep Guardiola?
City could always sell Kompany, and buy Marko Marin for, I guess like, 65 million, that'll show Pep they mean business, both in the war chest- as well as in the midget department.

Re: What's next for Pep Guardiola?
Get Jupp Heynckes out of retirement.
Ottmar Hitzfeld is no longer at the helm for Switzerland AFAIK and hasn't officially retired, he'd be the obvious choice, though I want him to replace Löw.
Then there's always the possibility to poach from 2nd division clubs that are doing surprisingly well, just look at Wolfsburg and Schalke, they poached their coaches from clubs that were punching above their weight class and are doing fine, same as the BVB did twice now, with Klopp and Tuchel.
Lucien Favre also would be an obvious choice.

Guardiola would keep some of them. Surely Pedro, Cesc, Matic, Hazard, Oscar and Ivanovic.

Re: What's next for Pep Guardiola?
lmao, Pep will delete players like Mikel, Ivanovic and Falcao. Shift Matic to CB, give Fabregas 5 partners in midfield, move Hazard to CF or some bs, Azpi CB, etc

It would be pretty funny if Pep took over Chelsea just to spite Mourinho.
