Which system uses McClaren ?
Not a clue and 4231 so far, although without at least 3 new signings it won't make a difference.
Thus lock pls RG.

All that's missing now is a "Crystal Pardew shrewdly building a flamboyant side" thread

Are they doing this:
?
Why not use Aarons as a starter?
Wijnaldum - Tiote
Cabella - De Jong - Cissokho
Mitrovic

Cabella has been injured throughout pre season and will likely miss the first month of the season. In all seriousness it will probably be....
Wijnaldum Random DM
Sissoko De Jong Aarons
Mitrovic
Sissoko De Jong Aarons
Mitrovic
I would be shocked if Aarons doesn't start just because the competition is *bleep* crap, Perez could start I suppose but considering he's not a wide player at all we would be relying heavily on fullbacks for width.
That's what I expect to see if we sign nobody else, although we desperately need one more winger and CB IMO.

Re: Newcastle quietly assembling an immaculate team..
Why not? Menez would be a good pick up for a club like Newcastle. Zapata would be an upgrade too haha.
It would make more sense to me to have Sissoko in midfield and Wijnaldum on the wing but meh.

Nobody said he was going to play on the wing? I said it would make more sense to me to have it that way, as opposed to having Sissoko on the wing.

Oh right, i think he's playing in the middle because he's ( seemingly?) more intelligent and a better goalscoring threat.
Either way neither on the wing is ideal thus the want for a winger.

I would start him as i said, but it seems unlikely considering we signed Mitrovic and De Jong is fit ( see how long that lasts for ) I'd prefer him to start over Sissoko as i want as much technique and intelligence on the pitch as possible but again seems unlikely.
He'll still play a lot though considering De Jong can't go 5 seconds without getting injured.

Re: Newcastle quietly assembling an immaculate team..
Shouldn't he play in place of Aarons ?
tbh I don't realize why all rate him as Newcastle starter
Then where will Winjadum play ? He was signed for which role ?
I never saw him playing tbh but I 've always read excellent opinions about him ... anyway I don't know if as midfielder or as CAM. I read he is CAM but anyone deploys him as midifider. There are often "misunderstanding" about quality players , still Sky depoys Hernanes at midfielder when he's clearly a CAM for example lol

Re: Newcastle quietly assembling an immaculate team..
We want Aarons to start because he's the only winger we have and the only one who combines ability and raw pace.... we don't have much pace in the team tbh.
If we are going 4231 then he should start over Ayoze, if we see a diamond 442 then Perez should start.
As for Wijnaldum he's played a lot of his career as a CAM but played last year as a CM in a 433 and had his best year of his career.... of the videos i watched his best attributes seem to be his off/on the ball runs which lead to goals and his intelligence, pace and technique which to me are more suited to playing CM.

Re: Newcastle quietly assembling an immaculate team..
Fair enough
It's ideal for Newcastle if he gives his best at midfield , Newcastle needs of a similar profile (after Cabaye's selling Newcastle had troubles about it ) more than CAM ( Basically Newcastle has still a good quality in that side also for alternatives. He's more defects at midfield as said imo )

Mind it doesn't matter how good or bad he does if any of the current CBs are still starters
