Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 22
think I've only watched Mania & RR this year
seems like I haven't missed much
anyone (MT) post the story about how Lesnar almost debuted as a gay character back in the day? was reading about it earlier
they thought it would be progressive and result in tons of positive press if they had this alpha male as a gay character

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 22
Wouldn't it be seen as controversial in a bad way though if somebody at the top of the company was storywise pretending to be gay.
Can see a shitstorm happening over something like that.
Of course that's glossing over the fact that most heterosexual men who are entering a career of half naked man on man grappling probably don't want to pretend to be gay as well.

I just have memories of seeing him once or twice outside of pubs pissed in town, I moved from there years ago though so don't really remember
having visions of Prime Lesnar being hit with Rikishi's Stinkface and doing Ryback's feed me more chant afterwards

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 22
According to The Wrestling Observer, a plan was once pitched which would have seen Brock Lesnar debut on WWE TV as a gay character.
The idea would have been to have a big guy appear on TV, and later out himself as being gay. The character would not, however, exploit any gay stereotypes but would instead be an alpha-male ass-kicker who happens to also be gay. Upon learning of Brock Lesnar’s imminent arrival to the WWE main roster, the idea was to have Lesnar play the role.
The idea was created by two of WWE’s Magazine writers at the time, one of which was Brian Solomon. Solomon pitched the idea directly to Stephanie McMahon, explaining to her that the character would “blow fans away”, as he would be a hyper-masculine, top babyface who would reveal himself as gay. WWE felt the character would get a lot of support from the gay community, as well as praise from the media for WWE’s “progressive character.”
The idea reportedly made it all the way to the writer’s room, but was eventually shot down by older agents in WWE who thought it was a terrible idea. The idea was something which later lead to the Billy and Chuck story line.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 22
Rollins beats Cena clean. Cena turns heel, beats Rollins up. Out comes Sheamus who cashes in. Cena and Sheamus join the authority. Rollins vs Cena vs Sheamus next PPV, HHH's nose on a pole match. Cena wins, replaces his broken nose with HHH's. Rollins breaks Cena's nose again. HHH gets upset and attacks Rollins. Ambrose and Reigns come out to make the save, Shield reunion.
It appears John Cena vs. Seth Rollins is scheduled to be a long-term feud as it’s booked as the main event for several WWE live events in September. Besides the “You Can’t See Knee” t-shirt that Rollins debuted last week, WWE will also be marketing other anti-Cena t-shirts for Rollins during the feud. On a related note, there is still no word on how their “Winner Takes All” match will end at SummerSlam but the possibility of one man holding both the United States Title and the WWE World Heavyweight Title has caused a lot of speculation within WWE and many believe that either straight-up outcome won’t make much sense.
