PSG closing in on Di Maria. Man wants 60 mil and PSG ok with that... wages are the sticking point as Di Maria wants 10 mil net. De Bruyne as backup in case Mendes/Di Maria don't bring down wage demands.
A source close to the transaction: "it's just a matter of numbers. The player wants to go to PSG and Manchester is not against his departure. It all comes down to whether the numbers are fine where PSG doesn't overpay the fee or the wages."

M99 wrote:I honestly thought Daley Blind did decent at CDM. So he'll be backup to Schneiderlin and Shaw? I can see him getting good amount of games tho with Man Utd back on CL.
He did well initially when playing there. But then injuries and other factors combined he looked out of sorts during the 2nd part of the season playing in midfield.
On the other hand Blind was class when he was played in LB. Linked up well with Young. So may be he will start the season in that position as Luke Shaw is still fat and weird (seen gay with Memphis lately ) Dont think van gaal will make Shaw an undisputed starter yet.
Or perhaps if Depay is starting Shaw will also start, as both are bonding well ..
Anyway Blind will get opportunity may be not much this season but once Carrick retires he could well be. He must have signed for us knowing long term he is going to only be a backup.

Delusional?
pretty sure DDG is still a United player lol
and I don't think we will let him leave unless Madrid are willing to sell us either Ramos or Bale
we don't care about losing him for nothing next summer

DDG will join Real Madrid very soon.
Not sure if Ramos is being used in this deal.

It's probably been posted that Schneiderlin is going to United, just can't be bothered to check.
Is this the season Southampton are getting relegated?

We have money with Sterling off now.
We should swoop in and buy Shane Long for 25m and Sadio Mane for 30m.

With an eye I'm laughing, but with the other I'm crying...I am happy because of the new additions but but...we look like an oil team in comparison to the old Man United. Maybe that's the way it will be from now on. I still believe that the winning spirit and the last gasp winners will be around for a little while.

Well, Unlike our dear fellow competitors we had to build a new 11 entirely, after fergie left. Such was the dearth in quality. Fergie's genius was the only thing that held us intact and van persie's form of course if we count his last year.
If we take out mata, fellaini and di maria's transfer fees from that, its only just over 150 actually. All 3 were bad businesses but that was more down to certain factors like moyes - responsible for first 2 where as di maria we may even recover, the money spent on him.
And this year the spending has been refreshingly good. 77 mil pounds for 4 players, very non-galactico-esque and clever.

Re: 2015/16 Summer Transfer Rumours Mk.IV
Gonna assume Utd is gonna keep their stance on De Gea and "force" Real Madrid to either meet their demands or no deal with the (huge) hope David agrees to an extension during the season and if that doesn't work, they have a couple of months to look for a replacement.
Just in case people didn't realise, Navas is still at Madrid and is still a very good goalie. This is more a want than a need at this point.

That's the thing. Real can afford to wait one year to get De Gea on a free. That's why players with only one year left, there's no room to insist on crazy fees.
Kroos went for 30m €, why would De Gea go for much more?
I think Utd will realize that sooner rather than later.
Also, if they sell Di Maria to PSG, surely they can up their 140m € bid for Bale a bit, if they need a Real player to show for losing De Gea
In any case, with this spending and those additions (assuming one more expensive striker incoming), surely anything but a strong title challenge should be regarded as a massive failure?

Re: 2015/16 Summer Transfer Rumours Mk.IV
If im Man Utd I would wait. Madrid have to make a big splash signing, they are Madrid, they have to make a song and dance about signing a name. Just like Barcelona.
They wont wait a year, that is what most other teams would do but not Madrid.
The very worst case scenario is you get to keep one of the best goalies for another season and give yourself time to replace him.
Losing 25m or whatever he would cost now isnt that big a deal.

Re: 2015/16 Summer Transfer Rumours Mk.IV
Utd probably cares less about the loss of money but highly more in the loss of an actual world class talent. This isn't like Golden Balls or Van Gol, De Gea is still pretty young. They are gonna do everything they can to convince De Gea to stay regardless of the posturing of Utd fans and whatever Van Gaal says.
Dani is correct though, this is Madrid. There is a really high chance they'll be ridiculous and pay a retarded fee for someone on their last year of contract but I'm hoping they actually summon whatever patience they can and hold out.
Also, can a club legally approach a player when his contract ends in 6 months like in FM? Don't know much of contract law. Or plenty. Whatever.
