I meant as in don't have a chance of Reus, as of right now you don't.

I don't think you are shit or anything or can't sign top players though, it just so happens that the list of clubs who can realistically sign Reus this summer is very very small.

Suarez wasn't even 'elite' when we signed him anyway (at least, not in the sense that Reus is). Maybe Fernando Torres, but even then he didn't have the same level of success as Reus when we bought him.

Firmino is the best signing we've had since Suarez really in terms of 'proven' players. He could have a similar impact if he can keep up his Bundesliga form and help Liverpool back into the top 4. Then we can see about signing 'elite' players, but even then I doubt it.

@glory true but that second place more reflected on suarez than it did pool imo.

right now they need to work on top 4 which is a big stretch, and the lack of cl is gonna hurt their chances of signing big players.

im not even a fan of pool and i can get this much, there is nothing to be hyped about tbh, they still have a long way to go, like securing top 4 consistently.

@el cujo you can't confirm firmino as best player since suarez, until he actually played couple months atleast.

he is decent at least but is he enough to turn pool into to a top 4 team this season no.

Re: Firmino/Suarez I meant it in terms of how good they were before Liverpool bought them.

I agree that he's not good enough alone because we need a good, reliable striker to go with him, but a front 3 of Firmino - Striker - Coutinho is very strong and Rodgers knows how to build around a talented attack. He can take us to top 4 if we bring in a good to very good striker (Benteke to Higuain would do it IMO).

Do you really think top players care about prestige and that's why they won't join us but join Chelsea and City?
All players care about is a fat paycheck, and that's where City, Chelsea and United can offer more than us ,seriously players wanting to join famous clubs or clubs that play in the CL is a big myth. See players rather playing for a Newcastle or a Stoke than top Italian and French clubs and even some top teams in Spain.

Probably because those players are not that good and the easiest way to a CL team is to take the money at a mid table PL club first as a stepping stone.

Top players ( which is what this whole discussion is about ) would never do that lol, we could pay Reus 500k a week and he'd still never join us.

There was all this drama about Reus and his release clause, he'd have had the pick of all top clubs.

He extended and agreed to get rid of the clause.

Why do we keep pretending like he's on the market this summer? He's not. Just isn't.
