I am kinda bored and dont have much to do, so to kill time will simply try to elicit some things. Bear with me.   or if otherwise just skip it.

Odds in favor

i) Being an Italian and if we get Darmian it might not be a bad idea as that will help him settle far quicker.

ii) Someone like Immobile might be willing to play second fiddle to rooney, which is actually a valid notion cos if we get a proven goalscorer who is better than rooney and if he then demand to start ahead of rooney as a lone striker, even still rooney wont be dropped as he is the bloody captain. He will take up a position in the midfield disrupting the balance of the squad. So lvg could be looking at player who is inferior to rooney right now who would be willing to be on the bench as his backup.  

Odds against

Well, rvp is getting sold and we will be in some shit if rooney wont deliver and might need a better player than immobile.

I personally think we will go all out for Kane once we address our important positions. 50 + mil and who knows, might just squeeze a deal out of them.

It's interesting to see what United have in mind, not many top class strikers available out there. I'm guessing Charlie Austin.

We could always loan them Sanogo.

I don't think even Yanited will spend the 15m on Austin that QPR want, mainly because he's not that good.

Disagree. Both Chelsea and Liverpool needed to use their back up keepers during 14/15. Chelsea had depth and barely noticed the GK change, Liverpool was quite the opposite. Mignolet barely regained form after being dropped. I imagine he would have done much better with some competition and depth at GK.

Mignolet ONLY regained form after being dropped. He was leagues apart after his spell on the sidelines.

It wasn't straight away, though. I don't think he got his form back for a month or so after being dropped.

No, the improvement was pretty much immediate. It didn't take MUCH to improve over his form prior to being dropped, mind you, but it was noticeable as soon as he came back into the team that things had changed, with his form taking an upward turn and growing with each match.
