I think this is was the general fans think, or atleast I do.
he is a great talent and has a great future, i would love him at barca considering we have an aging lineup
but at the moment he hasn't done anything to be compared to legends
next season will probably be the start of him being a starter then maybe we can start really judging him (even then it's still very early in his career)

If Pique was playing for Valencia, he would never get anywhere close the recognition he gets. LOL at being the best defender in the world.

People were saying Pique was back to his best while we were still 2nd in the league... and you would figure that in order to win a treble you can't be that bad a CB, especially if your partner is Mascherano.

I agree with you honestly. But i do think Godin and Otamendi are the best i have seen this season.

Not saying Pique was bad, he had a good season tbh. But far from being the best. So did Mascherano too. In a season like Barca had, a lot of players played their role. But lets be honest from top to bottom Barca are not the best team. Barca biggest strength MSN masks a lot of that

I obviously don't think it is only exclusive to Barca. For example i think Ivanovid is quite overrated by non Chelsea fans.

Why even comment on a team you are clearly not watching regularly? Mascherano was exposed countless times in the big games as usual. Sliding on his ass against Agüero, only rescued by Pique. The scene I'm talking about is here @ 3:08:

Watch any Clasico where he is specifically targeted in that manner or the return leg against Bayern.

If a great frontline alone would yield the results that Barcelona has achieved the past season, Argentina would walk everything yet they barely manage to win against scrub international teams like Jamaica and Paraguay even though they have Messi, Agüero, Di Maria and Pastore in their offensive line. This isn't Liverpool 13/14 with 101 goals scored but 50 conceded.

If not for Pique we would be nowhere near the treble. What he was doing in the business part of the season was unreal, but people will say it's all MSN because the only games they watched are against Bayern and Juve

may i remind you that pepe against real sociedad in the 4-2 match was horrible

there is no such thing as a perfect defender who concedes zero goals and has no flaws.

pique this second half was our defense, he carried it.. we've conceded less goals from headers than most teams, mind you our starting backline are all midgets + pique.

Oh come on. Every player has bad days but according to this forum all CBs are overrated

Besides an usual off game (applies to every single player) and a blunder against Sevilla he was clearing basically everything and took the leader role on his shoulders. We would have won shit without him. I'd say he was our most consistent player in the business part of the season with Messi and Neymar, and Bravo of course, who was sublime the entire season. I'm honest now, some of Pique's performances left me with my mouth open and I've never experienced it with a centre back.

Its the falcao salary which we retrieved when we let go falcao. No worries hence. Better than paying a crocked falcao any day this kind of money. And ramos (touch wood) rarely gets injured. So..
