Re: PES
Tbh all sports games look bad, it's when you play it which determines whether it's good or not.
Mainly because the media does a bad job of representing the game.
Not that I care as I don't feel like wasting my time with sports games tbh

@Cascia
LMFAO no way?
I always thought it was one of the more reproducible real life tactics. High pressing + counter attacking + narrow attacking width + close support range + many in attack.
If they fix their wingers movement. I might actually buy PES 2017. Especially, after Alba scored a 40M screamer with his right foot against me in FIFA earlier today, smh.

Re: PES
If memory serves they have added the individual stuff Fifa has on top of all the usual tactics it had before so that shouldn't be an issue for you.
I always could do what ever i wanted to do but it's there now so whatever. Will try the demo out before i decide, honestly as much as i enjoyed 2016 it's just a football game so we'll see.

Finesse finish looks as OP as always. They say they've improved keepers but they say that every year

Re: PES
These are the two videos i watched, mainly because they provide information to go along with the gameplay.
Not really interested in the gameplay tbh, i'll judge that when the demo comes. More interested in the information.
Also apparently there's going to be Barcelona legends for MyClub as part of their exclusive deal with Barcelona, which includes Ronaldinho and the likes.
Would be class to play as Prime Ronaldinho again lol.

Re: PES
It seems EA have gained exclusive rights to La Liga from this season onward which puts PES in a huge disadvantage, seeing PES sold a lot in Spain. They have Atlético and Barcelona rights but we shall see how exclusive EA's deals are; are they like EPL's where Konami are still allowed to do the players but give the team a weird name and kit or is it like Bundesliga's where Konami can't even do that. The latter would be the end for Konami.
Also PES 2016 sales were worse than the year before and with Konami slowly going the defunct path I can see the whole franchise ending by the end of the decade.

Re: PES
Yet in the PS2 days such a thing was praised lol, was always one of PES strong points that each goal felt rewarding and unique.
Part of the fun factor really, being too obsessed with realism takes away from the fun factor. Couldn't care less about realism outside making the players feel authentic and unique to control.
Besides that Ozil goal won't happen all the time and besides it wasn't that crazy lol.

Re: PES
I don't mind if this stuff happens once in a blue moon like they would in real life, but most PES fans suffer from placebo effects that player individualism is so pronounced in PES that it is one of its strongest points over FIFA; either that or they are fanboys claiming so because I don't see it.
I want realism to the point that it won't be the CPU making all the decisions for you, so that it is still a video game. I'd like to see a simulation, with tactics, counter tactics. I would like to see consistency in the game and no scripting. I also want the game to be responsive so it does what you tell it to do instantly. This is what I hoped Konami to get right and then move on to graphics, animations, licenses and so on. Unfortunately some issues have been in PES for 4-5 years now without any effort from Konami to eliminate them. I'm not holding my hopes high but and I will buy PES 2017, sadly for PS4 as the PC version is a pile of dog crap nowadays.

Re: PES
Well it is though, it's the no 1 reason i still play it sparingly and it's the no 1 reason i get bored of Fifa within 5 mins lol. ( player individuality)
A football game without player individuality is boring AF imo.
Also i don't feel the CPU makes the decisions for you tbh, although the scripting stuff is probably true tbh.

It's the former, which has been confirmed now. ( aka like the PL licenses)
Also Dortmund and Liverpool are confirmed licenses as well ( complete with exclusive rights to Anfield and Siguna Iduna Park), Dortmund being quite a big deal for PES as they are never in the game.
Demo is out next week for those interested.

Re: PES
Here's me sucking on the demo:
They have more tactical options this year (though some were greyed out for some reason):
Attacking
Attacking Full Backs
Hug the Touchline
Wide support - basically CMs and CFs will make runs out wide to make angles
False 9
Put it in the mixer - not called that unfortunately but basically getting numbers in the box for crosses
Tiki-taka
Defending
Swarm the box - park it, basically
Gegenpressing
And I'm forgetting the rest
You can switch between them with L2+D-pad during a match.
I've played games as Arsenal, Atleti, Barca and River and each team felt different. Keepers seem to be more responsive this time too.

Re: PES
Top Player - one below Superstar, the hardest difficult.
Demo lets you choose how long the games are, so you can get a real feel for how it plays unlike the FIFA demo. Probably worth trying for that alone.

Re: PES
Played 10 or so matches, my thoughts so far:
The good:
The bad:
The good:
- Teams really do have a personality, each team plays very differently to the other.
- Adaptive AI is not just a marketing thing, it does work to an extent.
- Goalkeepers are better than previous years.
- CPU does make mistakes, fouls etc. this all adds to the realism.
- A good host of animations added that make PES a better experience.
The bad:
- Individualism is not pronounced. People scoring screamers with their weaker feet, stronger players losing to much weaker players in one to one battles. Physicality especially is something PES needs to work on for next year.
- I can't seem to be able to dribble as much as I could on 2016. The CPU matches your movements frame by frame instantly. Skill moves are difficult to pull off, and even when they work, the defender always gets the ball from you, not to mention skill moves slow your momentum drastically which beats the point of doing them in the first place.
- Despite all the good animations, PES still needs more. At times the game just looks so stiff.
- I can't seem to be able to play very long lofted through balls (it always goes to the closer player no matter how long I hold the button for.
- Shots almost always end up on target regardless of where and how you take them.
Re: PES
Just played the demo agree with most of what Dany said except individualism, being stiff and can't play lofted through balls.
Dribbling has been difficult as well but it always is when I play a new PES so I'm going to put that down to me being shit than anything else.
To add my own stuff, the passing is great imo and I feel more free than last year's version and unlike last year the high pressure wasn't really effected so I struggled to break down France when Kante and Matuidi was basically blocking off the whole left side.
I was using Barcelona so Messi wasn't really effective once they got into shape and I tried many times but just got walled off into a group of defenders lol.
One thing that annoyed me though is in the demo they have not allowed you to edit team and individual tactics as well as formations which takes away from the replay value of the demo sadly.
There's stuff there I'd really like to try but alas I can't, I saw that Guardiola's inside fullbacks was one of the options though lmfao.
