Ive played FIFA for the last two or three years. Always wanted a team (i main Liverpool) fronted by Ronaldo or Messi, but something always gets in the way. Sometimes it's my fault, like when I eventually fade into other games (Destiny etc), or I accidentally overwrite my career (did that twice).

Either way, after trying for a long, long while I finally manage to buy Ronaldo (for Sturridge and 82 million @ 600k a week). Was sooo excited to finally have my team together.

12 minutes into the game and he rolls his ankle, out for 4 weeks.

Fifa 16 is probably my least favorite football game of all time. I'm all for adding realism to football games, but there's nothing realistic about disabling long-range ground passes, and the inclusion of randomly occuring brain farts that prevent 2 yard passes from hitting their intended target. There's nothing realistic about balls being more easily intercepted as a result of the game mechanics not allowing players to put any power behind passes. Also, why the hell did they increase the frequency of penalties being awarded for collisions inside the box? Were people complaining that there wasn't enough penalties in previous games in the franchise? They managed to make the most frustrating game of all time, even more frustrating ffs.

FIFA online and with a friend is still pretty fun tbh, nothing can get close to the exhilarating feeling of scoring a last minute winner online. It's career mode that makes me wanna drive a nail through my head.

Thanks to whiners EA toned down passing error and now FIFA is back to the ping-pong laser passing game all know and love. GREAT! Mad

This was literally the only football game I'd liked in years and they managed to screw it somehow.

I'm not saying the "ping-pong", on-rails whatever system that's already in place is the ideal solution, but adding random passing errors that aren't affected by any manual actions doesn't add anything positive to the game, in my opinion.

An actual positive feature they added was to make it so that when you pass to someone while your back is facing the target, your pass is likely to be inaccurate. I think that was a great addition to the game because that way the player is in control of whether or not it's worth it to take that risk; that's the correct way to add realism. Instead of adding random passing errors, they should've just made passing more manually controlled, as opposed to the always straight, power assisted passing system that already exists.

I feel the same way about the frequent intercepted balls in the game. It's just frustrating when it happens in situations where I've accounted for the possibility that it could happen, and it still happens. If passing power and direction had been manual, or at the very least semi-manual, I'd have no one to blame for it but myself.

I don't think it's random passing errors. I find it more realistic now than before (not talking about the update). I feel it just incorporated driven pass more, so once I adapted it was easy to learn.

Well, the random passing errors aren't there anymore. They've patched the game so many times that, I at least, don't notice it anymore. I'm referring to the original game, the way it was just after it was released. I would attempt to pass the ball to someone who was 10f away, and the pass would occasionally just go in a slightly off-set direction, or not have any power behind it despite having a full power bar.

I also feel that a large amount of the intercepted balls in the game are a direct result of the game not allowing you to pass the ball fast enough to hit the target, which is just another half-assed attempt at adding realism, in my opinion. Sure, intercepted balls occur far more often in real football than it does in FIFA, but it doesn't occur because the players don't know how to put power behind their passes - it either happens because they're not aware of their surroundings, or because they don't think it's necessary to put more power behind the pass. They scaled down the option to make powerful ground passes, in favor of the driven pass feature. Not my definition of realism, fun, inventiveness, whatever.

Off the top of my head, one suggestion for a feature they could've used instead, would be to make it so that the harder/faster the ground balls are, the less accurate. Simple, effective, more realistic.

I'm going to have a career mode session with a friend today after a two month break. I really enjoyed the original game with the difficult passing, so I'm afraid if it's true that they've made passing super easy again, I won't enjoy the game as much as before Sad

I got a bit bored over the christmas break so I unpacked my PS3 and started playing Fifa 14 career mode. Within 20 minutes, I packed everything up again. Yep, remembered how much I hate this game.
