Against osassuna .

4 one on one chances created. One scored.

3 set piece headers created. One scored.

1 set piece direct free kick scored.

Unbelievable game from the wonder kid.

He could be but at the same time, Odegaard is just too good to be letting go to waste.

He's definitely a good player, but I don't understand how or where some of you guys see this extraordinary potential in him. He did well against a lacklustre Elche. It was a deserved man of the match performance, and I applaud him for working his socks off, but I don't see him developing into a permanent Xabi Alonso replacement. Of course, I'd love to be wrong about this, but I've yet to be convinced that he's good enough for our manager to consider using him over Alonso, against the sides that actually matter. Will he develop into a player that we can rely on against the heavyweights of the future? I don't see it. He's certainly younger and more mobile than Xabi, and I'm sure he's got qualities that Xabi's always been lacking, but it's the end-product that counts.

Man, Illaramendi sure didn’t live up to the hype. He’s been alright for Sociedad, but he’s nowhere near the level of talent that some of you projected him to be at. Turns 30 in about a month, as well.

Looks like Martin will likely be staying with Sociedad throughout next season. If they manage to stay in the top 4 this season, they’re looking at Champions League football during his final year there. I don’t think they have the overall quality to get very far, but it should be interesting to see how he performs in the European competition.

His last performance against Osasuna is possibly the most underwhelming I’ve ever seen from him outside of our Castilla, but he showed spirit, and even tried to motivate his team mates when they looked tired and uninspired, and I think that shows that he’s grown a lot as a person.

Update: Real Sociedad lost their match against Alavès and are now down to 6th place after their second poor performance in just as many games since the league re-started.

Only took in the extended highlights but a spirited performance is all you can really say because an actual performance (from any La Real player) was pretty hard to spot in this match.

I doubt the full match proved any different.

Yeah, I missed the match against Alaves, but if it was anything like their match against Osasuna, then I’m not surprised that they lost. I’ve seen and heard Oyarzabal described as a wonderkid a few times, but I rarely ever get the impression that he deserves that description. Apart from him, Martin, and sporadic good performances from Isak, Portu and Willian José, the rest pod the team often leaves a lot to be desired.

They seem able to punch above their weight class when the synergy is right, but their mediocrity becomes very apparent whenever they’re incapable of playing as unit.

Here's a video by an alleged Doctor of Physio, talking about Odegaard's patella tendinopathy. Apparently he's starting today against Levante, maybe signs the injury is not too bad, or in the worst case, a sign of negligence.

Our national team coach says in a press conference that Martin Ødegaard’s «jumper’s knee» may result in him being excluded from the next few international team matches.

A damn shame for my NT, as he makes our midfield tick and brings an element of unpredictability to it, but I’m more concerned about how much of an impact this injury will have on his professional future.

It’s normal because technically he is rehabbing. Since they have chosen a conservative treatment he needs light work and rest at this point

Yeah, it's normal, but I hope the extent of the injury doesn't have longer term consequences to his performance level, as it sometimes does.

Apparently, he tested positive for Covid after our match against Real Sociedad. The PCR tests can sometimes give inaccurate results, so he’s going to take another one. The result of the second test will be revealed today. He won’t be featured in the match against Betis.

Ødegaard had a really poor match against Serbia in the Nations League a few days ago, in a match where we struggled to get the ball past the halfway line, and he looked uncharacteristically anonymous, jaded, and lacking in risk-taking.

He completely flipped the script against Romania today, by showing some great ball control, threading multiple, defense-splitting passes through to our strikers, and bagging himself two assists. Worked tirelessly in defense, and was unlucky not to get on the scoresheet, himself. This is the version of him that I want to see play for us. I don't think even Valverde has the lungs to perform like that twice in succession, though lol.

Odegaard should 100% never be behind Isco in the pecking order. Night and day difference. Isco will turn around in the same place 10 times and pass back while Ødegaard actually tries to progress the play and create.

Ode don't have runners infront of him to release those through balls in Madrid. I think he is not compatible with Benz.
