What a result for China ....it's great somehow that both final matches of Groups A and B has one useless game and one cup final.
Korea has to beat Australia to win group.
Uzbekistan have to beat Saudi to qualify.
I don't think Korea to too bothered too...they'd probably rather face Japan in semis than Iran anyways given the recent record of H-2-H between the two teams.
tbh they do rather well against Iran in official matches, it's the friendlies that is killing them.

I doubt any other nation chant their leader's name in Football matches
Maybe Iraq in Saddam times were forced to.

Re: Asian Cup of Nations 2015
Early days, but this Quarter Final is looking likely (maybe with a change or 2)
Straya vs. Uzbekistan/Saudi
China vs. Korea
Iran vs. Iraq
Japan vs. UAE
China definitely the surprise package so far. They qualified through paying off the other team to let them score past them for fun in the group stage and their friendlies were dreadful too. notable a 5-1 loss to Thailand.

Re: Asian Cup of Nations 2015
What an incredible save by the Korean keeper on Kruse in the final minutes, truly outstanding. Ryan also did well to keep the game alive when Korea were ripping through on the counter as Australia pushed up.
China might actually be better off losing 2-0 to North Korea and trying to get to the final through South Korea and Iran rather than Australia and Japan.

Re: Asian Cup of Nations 2015
Saudi Arabia out after a controversial game (that actually benefited the Saudis). Frankly, this is to be expected when they fired their coach just a month ago (after promising he was a long term investment).
The ridiculous decline in Saudi football is continuing and will probably continue further as bored princes play with the Saudi Federation as they please.

Re: Asian Cup of Nations 2015
Australia paid for Postecoglou's complacency against SK. He needs to start the 1st team players to win games. Rookie mistake. Also, there are far too many Victory & Roar old boys or current players on the field for my liking. Put the best players out there instead.

Re: Asian Cup of Nations 2015
This tournament now has the record for most games played without a draw. 20 games played, 0 draws.
The previous record was 18 matches without a draw set at the 1930 World Cup in Uruguay.

Now 22 matches without a draw. just two matches left of group stage, this could be the first tournament without a draw in the group stage.
It's been a great tournament so far. lot of goals, no boring matches.

If there are no draws in the entire group stage, technically there can't be any draws at all for the rest of the tournament due to extra time & penalties.Pedram wrote:Now 22 matches without a draw. just two matches left of group stage, this could be the first tournament without a draw in the group stage.Forza wrote:This tournament now has the record for most games played without a draw. 20 games played, 0 draws.

Imagine when your team tops the their group with 3 wins and no goals conceded, yet the gov't and FA's priority and main priority is that players shouldn't take selfies with female fans. Un-*bleep*-real.

I hope religion catches ebola and AIDS at the same time...then hooks up with mountain Everest and catches Herpes before calling off the distance and disappearing and effing up for ever.

It's still considered a drawn match is it not? The outcome of the game is just determined in another manner.

If you want to be a bitch about it, sure. (This is not a dig at you btw.)
In reality for the rest of us, it'll be a win loss.
