CL: Juventus 3 vs Olympiakos 2
my unbeaten record this season calls for me to make this thread because we all know the importance of this game, and mehmano has run us into some defeats with his threads
everything goes here, hoping Allegri will deploy a 4 man back with Gio and Tevez behind Morata but apparently he gave an interview on ESPN claiming "change is not coming soon and he will die with the 3-5-2 as its a winning formula" (the quote is not verbatim, just my analysis of it)
prediction: will be a tough game, I would say 2-0, or 2-1 win for us.......
the Great One has decreed it

Re: CL: Juventus 3 vs Olympiakos 2
19:16 - MORATA HOLDER WITH TEVEZ - Juventus are on retreat to prepare for the match against Olympiacos. The training will field Allegri is still to be decided, in fact, a certain jersey holder are Bonucci, Chiellini, Marchisio, Pogba, Tevez and Morata. The number 9 Juventus won the runoff with Llorente to tile the Apache. The biggest question concerns the conditions for Ogbonna and Asamoah who are now working separately. If the number 5 Juventus not make it Allegri would focus on the 3-5-2, with Vidal should rest. However, if Ogbonna should not be the race engineer Livorno could play with a back four, because the central Lichtsteiner on the right would be a risk. With a defense made by the Swiss with Bonucci, Chiellini and Asamoah or Padoin in back role. In midfield could play Vidal, Pirlo, Marchisio and Pogba behind Tevez and Morata. In any case, it all depends on how they are Ogbonna and Asamoah and then the doubts of training will be dissolved only after consulting Allegri will have with the players and the medical staff.
18:24 - 21 SQUAD - Juventus, through its website, has given his squad for the match against Olympiacos: "For the match against Olympiacos on Tuesday evening at the Juventus Stadium, Massimiliano Allegri on 21 players, the ones who had taken part in the last effort of the season against Empoli. "

I am just excited that Morata is playing. Every time he gets the ball or sets off on a run I feel like something may happen! Morata + Tevez = Goals!

The reports seem to suggest it's contingent on Ogbonna failing a fitness test. Hopefully Allegri just fields the blasted diamond anyway.

Re: CL: Juventus 3 vs Olympiakos 2
Allegri considers diamond midfield
Juventus Coach Massimiliano Allegri could deploy a midfield diamond against Olympiacos, as his side looks to overcome their European woes.
The Bianconeri usually operate in a 3-5-2 system, but the formation has attracted criticism as unworkable in Europe.
Now reports suggest that a spate of defensive injuries could force Allegri’s hand, with the tactician setting his team out in a 4-3-1-2 formation against their Greek Champions League opponents.
The Gazzetta dello Sport suggest that with Angelo Ogbonna doubtful and Andrea Barzagli, Martin Caceres and Luca Marrone certain to miss the game through injury, Allegri will deploy a back four system.
The Corriere dello Sport notes that Juventus practised this formation in yesterday’s training session, with Simone Padoin filling in at left-back, Stephan Lichtsteiner at right-back and a central defence of Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci.
Such a change would allow the former Milan Coach to include all of his star midfielders in the starting XI, with Andrea Pirlo operating at the base of a midfield diamond, Claudio Marchisio at the top and Arturo Vidal and Paul Pogba marshalling central midfield.
Both Tuttosport and Corriere dello Sport believe that should Ogbonna be declared fit, Allegri will stick with the 3-5-2 formation, but similarly do not rule out the use of a 4-3-1-2 system.
Should the Coach stick with three central midfielders, Arturo Vidal is the man expected to miss out, with Roberto Pereyra possibly being included at right-wing-back rather than Lichtsteiner.
Whatever the formation, Alvaro Morata’s showing in the 2-0 victory over Empoli is expected to see him partner Carlos Tevez in attack at the expense of Fernando Llorente.
Probable Juventus XI to face Olympiacos: Buffon; Ogbonna, Bonucci, Chiellini; Lichtsteiner, Pogba, Pirlo, Marchisio, Pereyra; Morata, Tevez

Re: CL: Juventus 3 vs Olympiakos 2
I can already imagine some scenarios
> we use 4-3-1-2 win good Ogbonna returns and the coward returns back to 3-5-2 next game and vs Malmo
> we draw or lose today (i hope not) and that = death of 4 man back forever at least whilst the coward is still in charge......
> we inject Ogbonna with something so he is declared fit 1 min before the game and we play a 3-5-2 from the start get to 80th min at 0-0 before switching to a 4-3-1-2 we should have started with
whichever some butthurts will flow today lol , I'd put Marchisio in Pirlo's spot bring Vidal back and put Gio behind the strikers but we all know Messrs Allegri can't put Pirlo on the bench or he gon get some cold cuts today

I would rather we played Pereyra in Marchisio position. More of direct attacking player who can take on his man!

To be honest I would bench Pirlo in this instance and play Marchisio in the middle. Vidal looks to be regaining his form and if thats the case then he must play!
