Conner is more similar to Suso than Shaqiri tbh. And would be free in the summer.

I'd take him if the other option is no one.

According to Barrett we were never in on Shaqiri in the first place and it was a ploy to increase his value. To be honest going after Shaqiri didn't make much sense anyway with all the players we've recently signed and those coming up -- especially when you consider we are in desperate need of a keeper and a goal scorer more than anything at this point.

Yea that's that. . . nothing much to look forward to than this window. . .

I would have taken Shaqiri over Lallana in the summer, but as things stand we have enough AMs, so I'm not feeling passionately about this Shaqiri stuff any longer. A little weird if he joins Inter, though, given their current level, I would have thought Shaqiri could have done better.

Though it would have been a steal if we got Shaq; we don't need him. As things stands now, I would be happy if we can get a proven goal-scorer (so Origi doesn't count) and a DM/CM.

If we can't get the right players, I prefer not to spend.

Well, I can say that even though I don't think we're actually in on Shaqiri, I do think that if somehow he ends up here it means we're keeping Sterling at striker or maybe moving back to the 4-2-3-1?

I think Shaqiri is a different player than Coutinho, markovic and Sterling. So it would be great to have him. Since we have figured out that in times of needs Sterling can be played as a striker and hopefully we will cope with loss of Sturridge in case if it happens again in this season. Although I would have liked a striker more than Shqiri, it seems like no one great is available right now.

btw if the club ONLY has Origi in mind for this transfer window, why isn't it already complete?

I swear if we happen to just bring Origi back and it's on January 31st or something after huffing and puffing all month and playing without a ST just to bring in a 19 to sit him on the bench because Sturridge will already be back then I'm going to go berserk with rage.

Look if we know the only business we want to do is a Origi and possibly a goalkeeper why isn't it already put in motion and both of them already here at the club getting ready to face Sunderland. We're wasting valuable matches that REALLY will define our season and whether we get into top 4 or not.

This is bullshit planning. I swear it will show absolutely no foresight from our management. It would show how absolutely inept everyone at the club is once again but that's it.

My opinion is we need a Director of Football, though i was against this initially but i strongly feel we need someone to negotiate better with FSG and MOST importantly with potential targets. BR isn't getting anywhere with this and i guess there is no point commenting on Ayre

Milner is class but Henderson is already ours and they're very similar.

And Delph?

James Milner is 29. He will (if he does come) will be a short-term (2 seasons) solutions. Could be a great cover for Henderson.

He won't be leaving for cover. He wants to leave City for first team.

I like Milner and his attitude is top notch. Usually I don't like signing almost-or-over-30-year-olds from clubs who've been doing better than us, because I'm not sure if such players' motivation and hunger is what it needs to be, if they feel like they're taking a step down. But I'm sure Milner would give his everything. He would also bring some experience. And will be a free agent. I think I'd like him at Liverpool. I'm not sure are we willing to offer him the contract he wants, though.

@Art: Different true but the promise of quality is far greater in Shaqiri according to me. Whereas Milner does have define the word versatility. Anyhow this one's for the summer.

Milner has been class since his Aston Villa days.

I like Milner and would not be upset at that signing though I think City will just keep throwing more money at him until he agrees to stay there. Rumours are he wants to leave though for the playing time and doesn't care too much about the money so who knows? Either way he'd improve our team. He's a tank and having a midfield duo of Henderson/Milner would be not bad at all given their workrates and skillsets.

Meh I don't want to sign a 29 year old to a 3 or 4 year contract. We've already got Henderson who can do the versatile role for us and has a better engine than Milner and is younger.

Just buy someone we actually need for goodness sake.
