Re: Yaya Toure Denunciation Thread
You didn't watch him at NT and at Monaco... he was just insanely good. He singlehandedly got Monaco to the CL semis by making insane saves in pool play and then dominating Man U (which is why they signed him imo) in the quarters 1998. Juve pummeled them in the semis... but they were just way too overmatched there. Sagnol and Di Meco lost their heads a bit. Got 4 trophies in 3 years at Monaco.RealGunner wrote:sportsczy wrote:Barthez in 1998 along with Buffon in 2006 had the most insane WCs i have ever seen... was the best keeper in the world from 1997-2000 until he went insane after he moved to Man U Yaya probably was in his early teens during Barthez' prime.
At no point in Barthez's career he was ever better than David Seaman lol. He surely can't be the best in the world.
You think Neuer plays sweeper-keeper well... add another 10 meters and that was the area Barthez was covering.
Problem was that he moved to Man U when he was 29-30 and he started losing that athleticism/speed. Yet, he still wanted to play the same way and he was a step slower... it wasn't pretty
But he was unquestionably.... and i mean without the smallest hint of a doubt... the best keeper from 1997-2000.

Can't wait to see his reaction when he finishes 5th in African POTY behind Mahrez, Aubameyang, Ighalo and Brahimi,

Bump for his retarded statements during his recent interview.
For what reason, would he need to say anything besides petty shots at Pep. Respect him as a player, accept for the last 3 years, and for what he has done for the club. But don't really want him any where near the club for the foreseeable future. Dude is burn bridges for no reason.

Re: Yaya Toure Denunciation Thread
I agree. Yaya Toure could have been remembered as a Manchester City legend but after what has just happened I think the club's top brass could even make a statement declaring him persona non grata. Might just be the worst ever conduct from a long serving player at a club upon his exit.
He has complained that he did not get a wonderful send off and could not leave feeling the love of the fans. The problem with him and many other people in this world is that they don't point the finger of blame in that one direction where it almost invariably lies - towards themselves. City fans respect the player who did great things in 2011 and 2012 but some of that affection and respect is lost when you sit at club earning high wages contributing pretty much nothing. In the 2015-16 season Yaya Toure had already become a passenger in the midfield. Then he got to know that Pep Guardiola was coming, a coach who had not even wanted him when he was at his best. The obvious question is why didn't he leave that summer. The obvious answer is the fat wages that he was earning which no one else in Europe at least would pay him. Well at least he could have moved to MLS, Qatar or China but alas he did not do that either. So he got all his wages right down to the last pie. Even after being ostracized in 2016-17 he still did not leave. Well then have your wages and take as much rest as you want but forget about respect.
One rule that has never changed in this world is that respect is only for those who deserve it and Yaya Toure certainly does not deserve any.
