Balotelli, forgot he had 10 other men around him and was offside as many times as Lovren gets passed.
If Brendan is thinking Balotelli is the man to lead our line he is dead wrong considering Mario will NEVER be a lone striker considering he does not know how to take responsibility and is far better playing off a pillar than being his usual lazy idiotic self.
We have no plan, no tactics, no guile, direction or vectors in which way to carry the ball.
Rodgers has got to seriously overhaul the tactical side if not re-evaluate the direction of this team.
We suck.
Balotelli is showing so many signs to be the start of Suarez career for us, it's uncanny really.
He can't trust ANY of his teammates right now, and it's visible. The midfield don't know how to use him, MB is not a CF but he'll adapt. Really needs Sturridge back to take the pressure off of him though.
As for the rest, the signs were there last year but we won 7 games out of 10 without Suarez so it was clear we'll be a guaranteed European team without him...

No we don't, Coutinho and Suso are the only playmakers in the squad, and ones out of form, the other can't even get called to the bench half the time.

Guys take it easy with the knee-jerk. We're so awful tactically yet if our players didn't make silly individual mistakes or decisions with the final ball we could have easily scored 3 or 4 goals. Just off the top of my head Sterling had two chances he should have buried, and Markovic had at least 2 others where he just refused to take a chance on goal in a clear cut scoring situation. We didn't lose because of our tactics we lost because of the players decision making and inability to convert.
The reality is that we are a young team and these kinds of growing pains are going to happen. Maybe it was the pressure, maybe it was just a bad day but regardless if you put Sturridge in the same situation you would expect him to score, and Suarez too. Does that mean that Sterling and Markovic are not good? No, but they need time and probably had an off night.
Now a far more pressing problem is that our set pieces have been absolutely awful. How many goals have we condeded from set pieces already this season? Something needs to be done about that.
Lallana looked great after coming on in the 10 role, and Balotelli is still working hard and playing well. He does need to be a part of a 2 man strike partnership though. Priorities this winter need to be another striker that can play when Sturridge is injured (because he's made of glass...that Remy guy would have been perfect, eh?) and an industrious midfielder that can also score goals. If I'm Liverpool in the winter I am going all in for Pjanic or Kovacic and Lacazette.
