Re: Ligue 1 Discussion 14/15
I just watched the PSG-Toulouse match earlier. I thought that both Silva and Rabiot were excellent, Verratti played well also. Pocho Lavezzi is still a below-average footballer. Lucas Digne is still an awful left back.
In my opinion this stretch of the past several weeks is the best that PSG have played this season. However it is worrying how many of their key players players have underperformed so much this season: Ibrahimovic, Cavani, Matuidi, Motta, Aurier/VdW have not been good enough with their overall performance.
Sirigu and Silva have both had lapses of form but Silva is getting back to a great level, Sirigu is still an inconsistent goalkeeper. Lavezzi, Cabaye and Digne are all lost causes. I'm tempted to add Cavani to this group but I feel like he can get back to his best...somehow.

Re: Ligue 1 Discussion 14/15
Still amazes me how Monaco can pull off a performance like that yesterday and still regularly churn out the turgid shit they do on a weekly basis in the League.
It's a shame the owners have already given up on the project because they have some really gifted young players (Martial, Wallace, Silva, Kondogbia, Kurzawa). Still ambivalent on YFC he's clearly gifted but his selfishness seems more like a curse than a gift at the moment. And this is coming from someone who prefers when players take matters into their own hands rather than passing up responsibility.

Unreal bottle by Marseille.
2-0 up to caen at home. Lost 3-2.
Full credit to caen though. Drew 2-2 with PSG and now came back from 2-0 to win away to Marseille.

Two terrible performances from Lacazette after his recovery. Fekir was OL's best player, I think. I see many OL fans who don't like Ghezzal; they wonder why he played in front of Gourcuff. The team has been struggling for a few matches now.
If someone never watched Lille play before this match, they would think that Lille were an exciting team to watch.

Lyon have the same problem as most unexpected title challengers do. Their squad isn't big enough to go all the way through. Without Lacazette, they struggle for goals. Without Fekir they struggle for creativity.
Hope Lyon recovers fast though. Don't want PSG to win the title.

Kid is 19. Completely ruined his confidence this awful awful Lille side. All of his development has went to shit this season. Probably did more damage than good this loan spell.
Doesn't help that savage fans are booing their own 19 year old academy player simply because he's been sold by the club to Liverpool.

Origi had several opportunities to do something in the final third and he made the wrong decision almost every time. I see nothing good in him if he is supposed to be a striker.

Re: Ligue 1 Discussion 14/15
Please know the facts before saying stuff... Kalou was the starting central striker for Lille the past 2 seasons and did pretty well. He had 16 L1 goals last season and 14 the one before. Lille moved him to give Origi the opportunity to start... a huge opportunity for a kid who was all hype and no tangible production. Origi started ok the first month and then completely disappeared.
Lille fans are very knowledgeable and passionate. Origi is a youth product that forced his sale to Liverpool before the season started... in their minds, he's a mercenary. So he gets zero homegrown treatment, which is normal. The boos are for his pathetic play and for Seydoux/Girard playing him despite his form and his departure this summer... it makes no sense. He's not part of the club for all intents and purposes.
Reminds me of Niang tbh... great raw talent that just isn't developing at all. Both these kids relied on their huge physical advantage in the youth ranks and didn't develop any fundamentals or work eithic. Fell victim to their own hype. Both are young and you hope that it gets turned around pretty soon. But now, they have a flop tag that they'll fight to erase.

Speaking of Niang...what on earth happened to him? The last time I heard about him was when he hit the post against Barcelona in the Champions League a couple seasons ago.

He was superb for Liège last season, almost reminiscent of Lukaku's later days at Anderlecht. He is not really that quick or that strong like Lukaku but what amazes me is his poaching sense and technique. Big fan of his.

Re: Ligue 1 Discussion 14/15
I can almost guarantee you Origi will be a success at Liverpool where the team actually plays attacking football that will suit him. He's only 19 and has all the attributes to be a success in the PL. He's gonna be a back up at first to Sturridge but in a year or two he'll get himself in to the team.
Not a single forward could be a success in that Lille side. Worst attacking side I have ever seen in my life.

Watching Origi right. On the 31' Lopes and Origi on the counter and he gets a half chance and shots wide very wide. Thats been the story all season.
Issue isn't style. Yes, Lille is playing some ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING football. BUT he has not hit a shot on target in the last 2 games and had more than enough chances

I wonder how long it will be until Nabil Fekir receives the attention of Europe's top clubs. In my opinion the best player in France this season, and he is only 21!

Doesn't matter how poor he actually is, dat WC hype is still alive in the minds of Liverpool fans.
