Not sure why Houston went for Beasley given the left side of the pitch is the one part of the field where they are set with Davis and Ashe. They need a center back badly so they are probably feeling pretty stupid letting Boswell go to DC United.

Either way, welcome back to MLS Tricky Beas. Still more worthy of a DP contract than fat Frank.

I always wonder what consitutes a 'surprise bid'.. do they send a guy to Hoffenheim to hide behind the managers car there on the car park, who then jumps out when the manager is going home from work?

It's highly context specific.

For instance when Milan are involved it's considered a surprise bid if the value exceeds 300,000 euros and will be paid within 3 years.
